This is going to be a great weekend of games

Friday:
(5)Iowa @ Maryland - I think that this will be better than we deserve for a Friday evening game. Iowa at 5 seems high, but they might just sit there all season.

Saturday noon:
Tennessee @ Missouri - I've been encouraged by what I've seen thus far. I really do think that we would beat Pitt if we played that game again. The coaching, scheme, and preparation are there. The execution has not clicked yet. I wouldn't mind just seeing us run our asses off.
(8)Arkansas @ (2)Georgia - I'll be surprised if Arkansas is in this one going into the 4th quarter, but they've been surprising for a couple of seasons now. Either Arkansas is for real or Georgia is about to murderball Arky.
(14)Michigan @ Wisconsin - This is the answer to what to watch if Georgia bullies Arkansas. I think this will be a great game.
Texas @ TCU - Patterson loves sticking it to Texas, and all of their various new head coaches that they've had. I think this will be a great test for Sark in that conference. I think a lot of people are impressed with Texas because they blew by Texas Tech, but TCU has a much better defense.
Louisville @ (24) Wake Forest - I like Wake. <shrug> I'll have this on one of my screens for sure.

Saturday afternoon:
(7) Cincinnati @ (9) Notre Dame - Still trying to figure both of these teams out. This is Cincinnati's biggest game of the season. Could be an open interview for the USC (and/or LSU) job(s) as well.
(12) Ole Miss @ (1) Alabama - I hope this is as entertaining as last year's game. Would love to see Alabama take a hit.
(3) Oregon @ Stanford - Sneaky potential here for a great game.
(6) Oklahoma @ Kansas State - K State always makes this a good game. Struggling OU offense/QB on the road? You know that's gonna be wild.
Nevada @ Boise State - one of those Mountain West games that could be worth keeping an eye on from an entertainment perspective.

Saturday evening:
(10) Florida @ Kentucky - I don't think Kentucky will catch Florida coming out slow like we did. But Kentucky does manage to make this a game at times.
Miss State @ (15) Texas A&M - Kind of feel like State is a better team than their record shows. They did beat NC State, and they got robbed vs Memphis. Could be a(nother) statement win for Leach, who seems to cup check a better team from time to time. A&M still licking their wounds and down from the big loss last week?
(21) Baylor @ (19) Oklahoma State - this game is going to be nuts
Liberty @ UAB - <shrug> I wanna see it. UAB opens their new stadium. Freeze feels kind of stale at Liberty.
Indiana @ (4) Penn State - revenge spot for Penn St after that finish at Indiana last year. That loss sent their team spiraling. You know they've circled this game.
Boston College @ (25) Clemson - time to find out what kind of coach Dabo really is when expectations are dashed and there isn't much on the line anymore. Would be an awesome kill shot, though I don't think BC can pull it off. Clemson is going to get clicking and take it all out on someone eventually.
UConn @ Vanderbilt - the very definition of a car crash and I can't wait.
Northwestern @ Nebraska - feels like Nebraska's version of our game next week. Gotta win it to take yourself seriously. I have a soft spot in my heart for Nebraska because everyone lines up to piss on their graves too. The post-2000 risers (Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Clemson, Oregon, A&M, VaTech, Wisconsin) love that Nebraska and Tennessee are down. They think that if they kick us out that it will open up room for them in the Top-10 All-Time group.

Saturday night:
(22) Auburn @ LSU - this is one of those games where Coach O's back is against the wall. People are starting to give up on him and LSU. These games always come down to the end, too. Can't wait.
Arizona State @ (20) UCLA - great late night accompaniment to the SEC game.

Late nite tip:
(18)Fresno State @ Hawaii - otherwise known as the get-back game

Yep lots of good games this weekend! Good rundown

Dobbs is my first choice because he is every bit the runner Hooker is, but has good accuracy including with his deep ball, which is what this offense is missing in a bad way.

Patterson is my number 2 because I think Hooker is good enough to run the offense (minus a great deep ball) and Heupel would find a ton of creative ways to get Patterson the ball in space. He is the most physically gifted athlete I've ever seen at Tennessee.

Has to be Dobbs as a senior or an extra year. Dobbs' deep ball wasn't good until his senior year.

If Milton’s problems supposedly stem from poor eyesight, why would he be supposedly hitting all the deep balls well in practice?
No one has said his bad throws stems from eyesight.

But, to your question it was said that this was just a recent development that he hadn’t told coaches. That started before the Pitt game.

Nobody knows if any of his issues could be sight related or when he quit wearing his contacts bc they were bothering him…

GA/ARK, i think it's a big deal that game is at noon in Athens vs. a later p.m. kick. may be the best game of the day. i expect GA's defense to be the difference in the end, and they win by 10ish.

Bama is gonna roll Ole Miss.

i'd lke to see MSU beat aTm, i'm for it, but it feels like a 'get right' game for aTm, so tread lightly.. and i don't have a feel at all on the LSU/Auburn game. i don't trust either of them. but it's at the red stick, and it's not like LSU doesn't have talent to compete with the likes of auburn, so i'm gonna say LSU gets it done.

i don't care about any of the other games. i'll sneak a peatk at Cincy/ND, and if FL/UK is a game late, i'll put it on one of the TV's.

this, of course, assuming we win our game, and i don't swear off college football the rest of the day.

Georgia will roll Arkansas. Won't be close.
depends on two things.

1. GA stopping ARK's run game, which i think they can
2. GA's offense against a sneaky/better than you think Ark defense

GA isn't playing Vandy or USCe. this is the best team they've played since Clemson. so i'm intersted to see how much different/better their offense looks against a real defense.

and i'm also curious to see how Ark's running game fares against THAT defense.

i think it winds u a 2+ score game in the end, but i think Ark plays well for a while. GA just has too much talent in the end.....pulls away.

that's always the catch

Is Jefferson confirmed out?

That's my concern too. If Jefferson is out then it's over. Whether or not that happens pregame or at some point during the game, the second he's ruled out it's over.

I think the big challenge for Arkansas will be picking themselves up and healing quickly after running up against two of the better (maybe the best) defenses in the SEC in back-to-back weeks.

Dont have much to report this week….. this should tell you where my guy rates as far as status with the team…. He is on the team bus right now getting ready to head to Missouri so he won’t be at the final walkthrough tomm…. The team flies up tomm afternoon…..He is very positive that Hooker will be our starting qb and hasn’t heard anything at all that would lead him to believe anything different. Parker Ball has taken some first team reps at center this week…. He doesn’t think he is starting and not sure if he will see the field much…. Just something he heard from a person that had been at practice. He also heard and this is not substantiated that Milton has been to the optometrist and had his prescription changed but he is not positive about that and has no details on how Milton has performed.
If Milton's vision is so bad that it is causing him to look like **** in games, how did he dominate in practice to the point that he was the no brainer starting QB as far as the staff was concerned? Surely Hooker and Bailey weren't that much worse than a blind dude?

I agree with your premise. We are literally light years behind GA, and Bama, and even to Florida to lesser extent. So if you go ahead and concede those that put's you at 3 losses. Everyone in the west is currently more talented or just a better place with their program with the exception of MSS. You have a better chance of drawing a team that will most likely beat from the west so that puts you at 4 losses.

Then you can't be scheduling Oklahomas and Oregons, you're going to have to keep the gimmies on the schedule and maybe another team similar to Pitt. Then you're going to have to sweep, all of the rest of the east. That's a tall order at least for the time being. My point is that it's an uphill climb even to get to 8 wins. I do look at it in tiers. The first goal is to become a solid number 3 in the east where KY, SC, Mizzou, and Vandy are forgone conclusions. Tier two would be to upset one of your rivals. Obviously, tier 3 would be to compete for the east. That's an extremely tall task that will take years and years to achieve. Probably a decade if Heup's the guy. All JMO.

I used to throw a tantrum at only 8 wins.
Yep..

If we play Milton again I’m turning the tv off.

Bro this eye sight issue for Milton is the biggest load of crap excuse I have ever heard of. He crushes it in practice and then sucks in games. His eyes change in practice and then magically he goes blind in games. Literally dying at anyone thinking his eye sight will magically fix him.
