We need to get any pass rusher we can as well in the offseason… we look like the Titans pass rush did last season. It is beyond awful. Entire defense needs better players. OLine needs a huge revamp. Better receivers etc. Snag one of the Ohio State quarterbacks too as one will almost certainly be in the portal. That’d be a huge huge upgrade over anyone in our Quarterback room no matter who it is. Stroud, Miller etc Getting good payers is at a premium. Otherwise we’ll keep losing to the Gators by 20+

Someone here said it once, can't remember who...but you'll never land a finished product QB in the transfer portal. Cause if they were that good they'd be starting or heading to the draft. And I think that is true, Russell Wilson is the only QB transfer I can recall being a finished product, he just wanted one more shot at a championship in college so went to Wisconsin.

Joe Burrow wasn't a finished product, but he kinda worked out for LSU.

Heupel started late so he hasn’t even recruited a class of his own. I’m sure our fans will give him a measure of grace for this if it takes longer than year 3 to show progress. lol

Doesn't matter what the fans want. Heupel is working with a safety net because of the impending sanctions. When we get popped by the NCAA, whatever it is, that time will automatically be added to the end Heupel's contract. He will be given enough time to get this thing turned around.

When hiring, firing, and recruiting are all based on that idea, it's silly to think we will magically just start competing with the 5-6 elite minded programs that will exist in this conference in a few years. "Eventually" doesn't just magically turn into "right now".

And minus some lip service, it's foolish to think the admin won't go along with that. If 70-80k fans show up every week with "I hope we make a bowl game" expectations every season, they will take that and run with it all day long. I mean they just got done booting the last generation of fans that actually remember winning games to the curb.

If I was in charge of protecting the financial interests of the AD... I would look around at the rest of the SEC, realize that the ROI to actually try to get UT to an elite level is not there, and then let the football program run on autopilot while I tell the fans "What we need is stability". And it would be super easy because most fans have convinced themselves of that already.

Who is stating that 9-3 is the goal that we want our program to achieve?

Once they hand down penalties…. It doesn’t really matter any more…. The waiting is what kills recruiting

i think it's more apathy, at least for me, than negativity. i'm not mad at the staff or anything. moreso the situation. hopeful CJH and co can change that. it'd be nice if it was sooner than later.

If that's true then this staff can't recruit at the level needed to compete in the SEC.

I don't believe that is the case, I think the investigation and cloud hanging over the program is having a major effect.

Small nugs: thinks Hooker is good to go….. he participated in all the strength training and conditioning today…. More than a few getting rehab and/or riding bikes on the side….. doesn’t think anything is serious and all of them has a chance to play Saturday…. Cooper was getting rehab today but he was walking well so hopefully he will be good to go.

Man I hope the OL is ready to rock. We can totally control the game if the OL is good to go. We can have their defense on their heels all game if we can run at will.

Cooper is critical to our offense's success. Hope he's healthy and ready to roll.
