A good AD controls the rest of the administration….. that is why we were so strong during the 90’s….. Dickey controlled the sports teams…The only problem with Dickey was only truly cared about football….. I’m sure Danny White will piss alot of people off….. he is completely trying to change how we handle everything…. It’s time to rip that bandaid off and go for it…. I’m tired of losing.
I don’t think you realize how big of a gamble he is taking. I’m all for blind following if you want, but you don’t piss off people who make you money. That’s not good business.

Well we wound up with the effectiveness of a Briles offense without all the rape controversy so I think we did alright in the long run. If anything, Arkansas is showing us how deadly ours will be if our QBs/WRs connect on some deep shots.
Are you confusing the son with his dad

Clemson proving you can have all of the talent in the world, but without a competent QB you will suck.
Everybody is college wanted the Clemson QB coming out of high school. This is his first year as a starter and I'm sure he'll settle down

Someone, that should know, told me Big Jim has taken a step back. Hasn't been involved that much with the AD. Said his age is showing. Also, said Jimmy is immersed in the browns and isn't even in Knoxville most of the time. He has no idea where Bill is. Basically that the Haslams weren't involved much at all. I have no idea if it's true.

All true. Big Jim's health has been declining, but he's close with Randy and Plowman. Jimmy and Dee spend most of the year in their Ohio residence, and Dee transitioned away from her company (RIVR Media) to help with the Browns. She's very active in and around Cleveland. I have worked on projects with her and known her family (the Bagwells) for years. They've been big UT supporters for decades, but she's focusing more on the academic side. Bill is invested in other pursuits.

Other big-name donors have stepped back, as well. I won't mention the names, but I'm sure you know who they are.

We can debate the "this and that's" all day, but here's the skinny...

Heupel and Staff are exactly what this program needs right now, and we need to let them do their thing...

They have done a great job of scheming and running the right type of O and D to try and fit our talent level right now.

WE SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE a full roster of the right talent and depth to consistently execute their schemes from start to finish in a game right now due to lack of veteran talent, injuries, and depth issues.

The only thing this team needs to worry about and practice each week---

Stay Healthy
Penalties
Dropped balls
Overthrows

You honestly fix 2-3 of these and we would be winning 7-8 games this season.

Recruit and use the transfer portal the best we can, hope some guys return using their COVID year, and watch he program stabilize and get better as the year progresses and see a huge uptick next season.

One thing I was told was that Charlie Ergen was prepared to step up to the plate, particularly pertaining to NIL. That surprised me given what you've said in the past. He's always paid for advertising but I'm not sure whether to believe this.

Thought we ran the ball pretty well yesterday, kind of a weird critique. Under center offenses are all but dead in today’s game.
This.

We literally ran against them better than Alabama did and better than anyone else has so far vs them. And that is with sack yardage because there was no way our pass blocking was going to hold all night against those monsters on the DL. But our RBs averaged 5 YPC. That is a super weird critique, I agree.

Banks good for 15yds penalty per game...

We are about to be gassed in the end of the 3rd at this point.

If we had average QB, we'd be up by 10.

We figure out QB, we will win games. Period.

Absolutely HATE where this team is headed in penalties... what gives???
The hate for Florida runs deep----the players have it just as much as fans do. Discipline is hard to control with that in mind.

Hooker is better than Milton. Was better at VT than Milton at Michigan. Joe is who he is.

Reports of him being right there the whole time during fall camp. This year is just a showcase, a motley crew of misfits trying to make something out of nothing. Keep having to remind myself we won’t win anything meaningful for awhile.

It will be an absolute miracle if HB is not in the transfer portal for next year. They put Milton, who is still healing from his ankle injury, in the game when Hooker got hurt. That's pretty telling.

Here’s an update on the new model I was was testing out for my weekly picks in Freak’s contest which I posted Friday night. It went 8 for 10 in the contest and of course the extra pick blew up. Still all in all an improvement. Week 1, I went 7/10 and then the following two weeks I was 5/10 each week. I needed to make a change.

Previously, I had used a very complex model involving all sorts of metrics including talent, staff continuity, and performance in the various phases of the game relative to strength of schedule. I looked at every other model published, ESPN, Sagarin, etc. I read message boards and watched coaches media sessions. I looked at injury reports and read local media for the respective teams.

I invested a lot because I’m determined to stay ahead of Catbone in the contest. I was so smart and well informed and it was getting me nowhere. I wasn’t pulling away. I figured I’d try to simply my approach and trust in good luck. It worked. We had 2 overtime games yesterday and I won both. So let’s keep it simple and trust to good luck for now. When that quits working, innovate. Freaking Wisconsin and K-State. I hate those guys. jmo.

I do think I can improve my model a bit. I need to make one small tweak that I’m not going to tell the Cat about. Looking forward to next week and I fully expect Freak with have the Tennessee-Missouri game in the lineup. I don’t mind disclosing that I’m planning on taking Tennessee regardless of what my new model says. It’s not a matter of discipline. It’s a matter of faith. I guess I'm still pretty smart after all. jmo.

Wow that 8/10 is against the spread?? 25/40 on the year?

yes. the word was Bailey was only gonna appear in four games max in oder to preserve the year of eligibility. looks like that is what's happening.
