They would rather be Yale or Harvard instead of having decent sport teams. If they aren't careful, once Barnes leaves, basketball may go back to the dump. If Vitello leaves, then you can kiss baseball goodbye as well. Like you said, they need to get their **** together. I hate to say it, but no one cares about school lmao.

Eventually they will lose every fan, and won't make money at all, so at the same time, I don't care what they do because if they fail again, we can all just laugh at them.

My thoughts as well the entire time. I think his contact is a GA and obviously says what he is seeing in practice. But he seems enamored with Milton and talked down the others. When I’ve heard differing views on Hooker and Bailey. None are ready. But they are not as bad as he likes to lead on. And it wasn’t right putting so much time into Milton when he clearly is not a good QB. They need to give all the reps with the 1s to Hooker and Bailey from here on out.

Exactly. I hate to tell them but they aren't going to fill these new fancy seats unless the product on the field is worth a damn

Agreed. We literally have zero linebackers that are SEC quality. You could argue Banks but he is worth 50 yards in penalties a game. And we have one person who can pressure the QB. I think our defensive staff is legit.

Last night on the postgame radio show I heard some criticism of the scheme. It wasn’t about the passing game; it was about the running game. It came from both Erik Ainge and Troy Fleming. Their argument was that both Evans and Small are downhill runners, north and south. They said we need to be giving them the ball when they’ve worked up a head of steam. That allows them to get through the line and break some tackles. They said these two guys are not the types you need to be sending around the edges. I think they were suggesting we need to be operating from under center.

From early on in analyzing Heupel’s offense I’ve concluded if we can’t run the ball effectively we will struggle against better defenses.

For the Arkansas comparison all we have to do is win at least 3 SEC games including beating ourselves in order for Heupel to match Pittman’s first year at Arkansas. He beat the 2 Mississippi schools last year and beat us. Both Mississippi schools had first year staffs. Anyway, we may end up beating Vandy, Missouri, South Carolina, and Kentucky this year. That would give 4 SEC wins in Heupel’s first year and that’s not including the fact that we’ve already beat ourselves. So 5 Sec wins to 3. See? Simple math. We can compare Arkansas year two to Heupel next year. Until then we should at least be honest in our comparisons. jmo.

Thought we ran the ball pretty well yesterday, kind of a weird critique. Under center offenses are all but dead in today’s game.

At some point people need to accept Milton is a show pony - even Heup. Sometimes it just does not work out with guys. We had two HC's who lost their multimillion dollar jobs primarily because they refused to accept that they could not make JG better since he had all the tools - except the brain for the game. Some players and ex-players even fell for it. They practice so well and can talk the talk. Then, come game day they turn to jelly brains and cannot incorporate the coaching into how they play.

Fans/posters need to stop with the player's former coaches were idiots narrative. Both Milton and Hooker lost their jobs and were benched for good reasons. Hooker looks better in this scheme than he did at VaTech. But he's not the long term answer, he's just the best Heup has at this point in program history. We have to accept there are no perfect answers until Heup gets enough time to build his roster and develop it his way.

But he needs to stop using Milton. Enough.

Danny White didn’t have anything to do with that….. he is one of the most respected AD’s in the country…… he is fixing what needs to be fixed….. Let the man work.

Baseball and Basketball seem to doing OK with recruits. Give these guys some time.
