Allen threw TDs, and moved the offense, in spite of missing a lot of passes.

That's not what Milton did at Michigan, and it's not what he's doing here.

Ok. Like I said, 1 1/2 games! I too thought Hooker played much better than Milton last week and I won't be surprised a bit if he starts this week. That depth chart likely doesn't mean squat. Heupel even said in his press conference he wouldn't know how Milton was healthwise til mid week. I just know that my knowledge of the game and of everything that is going on behind the scenes is not comparable to that of a college football that is involved in every aspect.

The problem is he hasn't been fixable in going on 4 seasons now.

Otherwise he is still starting for Michigan.

Personnel question. Any chance of seeing Baron at SDE and Young at WDE on passing downs? I think The two on the field at the same time could create an interesting much needed pass rush dynamic.

This is not a new chart. Notice all the injured guys still in the number number one slot and that Hooker is number 3 when he was obviously number 2 last week. Let’s not freak out yet

Why do I need to watch this week's game, or any future games for that matter, to evaluate Heupel's decisions and coaching performances in the previous two games?

Again, this same nonsense is trotted out with each new coach, that they are somehow immune from discussion and criticism in the present, until some arbitrary time in the future, which gets punted further with each new season.

Heupel's going to be here for years to come, and contrary to popular sentiment, he's not going make all the right choices based on his status as the HC alone.

If you can't handle the discussion of his performance as it occurs, then Volnation is probably not the place for you.

I’m more interested in seeing if we can cut down on the mistakes - especially the penalties on both sides of the ball. We should be able to carve up TT and hopefully all three QBs get to lead scoring drives. While we should be able to just pound the rock we definitely need to throw downfield since that’s currently an area where we suck. I hope Joe can hit those wide open receivers this week during the first 20 minutes but if he doesn’t then let Hooker take over for 20 minutes and then let Bailey throw for 20 minutes.

We start SEC the following week with a weak OL that isn’t gonna open holes for the running game and a defensive that can’t put pressure on the QB…if we can’t throw the ball we are gonna get blown out in 5 or 6 games. This is the last scrimmage to get the passing game working.

Josh Heupel being a Heisman candidate, and the head coach, is not a refutation of the argument. Him being both of those things, does not change the fact that Milton, was the worse choice to start on Saturday, as was demonstrated by Hooker's ability to more effectively move the offense after Milton left the game.

Josh Heupel has access to the statistics you are referring to. He also has access to additional more relevant and more exhaustive information than you provided. Nothing in your analysis, from your small sample size of evaluation this year to your comparison last year when both qbs were in different systems, give a justifiable argument why Heupel should start Hooker over Milton in the system that Josh Heupel himself is installing and running at Tennessee. Do you have any criticism of the system he is running?
