We also only called 24 pass plays last night... Joe was like 9/11 going into the 2nd quarter when we saw a few drops happen and Cooper go out. Momentum stalled for a bit after that, after halftime we went for over 300 yards and scored 24 more points. I think Saturday against Pitt will be an important game, hopefully we can compete and clean up the things we need to in the passing game.

Velus being banged up, no Keyton and no Calloway I'm sure also changed the chemistry in the passing game.
He was 1-9 or 10 and only one of them was a drop...then they went to the run.

UCF scored 34 in that game..if that was Pitts recipe, it was a bad one. They won because UCFs defense gave up 35...plus wasn't that game early in the year when the QB situation was still unsettled before Gabriel came on?
I’m not trying to argue Pitt was perfect. What I’m saying is they have played against Heupel’s offense twice. They know it.

If you think, like I do, that UCF team was better than this current UT team, then Pitt knowing our system coupled with playing a weaker team should at the very least make them feel comfortable with their gameplan.

Y’all needa relax about not playing the best QB my goodness. Yall do this every few years and always end up being wrong. “CBJ just loves dormady JG is way better” “Put in Chryst hes way better” “Put in Maurer he’s way better” heck in 2015 fans were saying bench Dobbs for Dormady because Dobbs struggled to start the year and Dormady looked good against WCU

Maybe Bailey just isn’t as good as we had hoped he was gonna be. Not a great sign when two different Coaches don’t start him

I don’t think anyone is saying Pittsburgh is great, but they’re the ‘85 Bears compared to that Bowling Green team. They have actually D1 linemen on both sides of the ball.

This right here also causes a lot of consternation for me:

There is no doubt that UCF team in 2019 was better than this current UT team. Pitt knows the recipe for this offense and knows how to beat it.
Yeah, and that Pitt team was probably better than this year's Pitt team. They won 8 games that season.

Winning one game 2 years ago by ONE point does not equal knowing "the recipe for this offense and how to beat it."

I was told the same thing this morning. Again, no one can be certain about anything, but there seems to be enough smoke around this to at least lend some credence to it.
Don’t do it Bass. Everyone will attack you all day. Don’t question anything ever!

Those stats take into account missing receivers running wide ass open in the middle on a lot of plays?
You, Bass and others were so convinced he was going throw for 400+ yards and 4+ tds that anything short of that wouldn't be acceptable.

No one is saying he played a great game or that he doesn't need to improve. But the sky is falling mentality when we are a 6 win team at best is laughable.

2:23:03 in case it doesn't automatically start there.

Defender got his head turned around in time, was in position, slipped, and Tillman reached over the smaller defender to make a great catch.

You guys keep saying that it was a great play. It was a great catch. That pass is not a great pass, I'm sorry. It's going to get picked, at the very least defended, against better competition. That's assuming that Milton has 3 seconds in the pocket to even set that play up, also assuming that him fleeing a clean pocket is available, also assuming that the WR has time to get down there.

Are we just going to pretend like we don't play in the SEC against bigger, stronger, faster, more experienced defensive backs?

Bullcrap..that one on one jump ball is exactly why you recruit and sign that particular type of reciever...damn man this ain't 83 anymore.

You evidamndently have no idea what I have been screaming about Milton since we signed him...last night he was exactly who I have said he was.

1down14 to go….

Milton…
timid, 1 to many long balls over thrown, standing around next wkend he’ll get coldcocked,
Impressed with Coach Halzle, he’ll work the kinks out of Milton this week
C+

Defense…
2nd qtr confusion, they moved the ball forward too easily
B+

Offense overall pretty good
B+

Fan turnout and spirit A++++

Pitt will not be a practice team, big test for the Big Orange

I didn't like the 2nd string LBs. The defense looked totally different when they were out there. Both scoring drives happened on their watch. Hopefully Banks and Mitchell can stay on the field more against Pitt.

He didn't even play an average game. He played a below average game. He mustered up 140 yards on 47% completion percentage against one of the worst teams in CFB. He missed multiple open guys and fumbled. He was late on multiple throws.

Sky isn't falling but Milton has a lot of red flags. Red flags which were present at Michigan

You're right. I don't know your take on him pre last night.

Those that had him pegged our best modern day QB of all time are those that are the most upset this morning.

Those were good passes, but those two horrid overthrows were all on Milton.
Yeah I know. I'm just saying that if just one thing within his control happened differently (just one of his 2 overthrown deep balls) and one thing outside of his control was better (the 2nd Hyatt drop, but you could really include both drops he had) we score ~50 points, Milton's stats look a lot better on the basis of just those 2 passes, and instead the narrative is "Hey, that offense looked pretty good" instead of "Maybe we need a new QB."

I don't know that for a fact, but all I can go by is what I have seen. I think we need to stop trusting practice reports. None of those guys had even mentioned Ollie Lane. Remember when Elijah Simmons was terrible?
What have you seen? All three of our QBs sucked in games…. They had varying reasons for that and potentially fixable issues…. I don’t remember the media saying Elijah was terrible…. They just quoted what Garner stated which looks like it was to motivate him…. As for Ollie…. I don’t know how they would have known with the limited amount they got to see…. My person that was at the practices was absolutely shocked he went with Ollie first…He doesn’t think he is very good.
