It was an article posted in the post that I was replying to. Someone did a study on people that recovered from Covid and got the vaccine afterwards vs people that recovered from Covid and still haven't gotten the vaccine. It's summary was if you've had Covid and are unvaccinated then you are 2.34 times more likely to have reinfection than those that have had Covid and been vaccinated.

But I didn't see what that 2.34 times was related to. Which goes back to my original post. 2.34 times what?

I do think that hand washing and avoiding indoor crowded spaces are more effective than masks. I traveled to Las Vegas earlier this summer before this recent flare up. I think planes are less the problem than the airports. I tried to shorten the time I spent in the airport, avoided crowded gates, and used rest rooms when they weren’t busy. I also avoided airport restaurants but I’ve always done that since they are expensive and oftentimes not the greatest.

Lock downs were a terrible idea. Economic destruction over a virus that we knew the age and type of people that needed to be protected. Madness.

I lost a good friend to the flu about 6 years or so ago. He was the ripe old age of 33. Sometimes people just get unlucky.

Nothing to do with Covid, but Pretty much everything about flying sucks.
Makes sense that not being in a crowd is better than being in one with a mask.

Exactly. And I’m honestly kinda surprised that the vaccine does anything to help natural immunity. I’ve already said I probably would not have gotten the vaccine if I had been through “the sickness “.

I’ve actually been to a buffet concert and to Dollywood since being vaccinated and before the recent flare up.
I’m supposed to see Zac Brown band in New York early September. Not sure if I’m risking the concert. Game time decision I guess

Things might be much better by early Sept. As quickly as it flared up, I think the numbers would will go down rapidly. But thats just a personal prediction based on what happened in the UK. I have no concerns about attending a football game at Neyland in early Oct. But right now in Florida, I am avoiding most indoor events. I'm fully vaccinated but I'm also 64 so I just don't want to risk a breakthrough infection that turns nasty.

I’m 52 and though I’m very healthy for my age, the type B influenza almost hospitalized me 2 years ago. I don’t want any part of Covid even if it’s mostly mild symptoms for people in my catagory. The ZBB concert is at Jones beach, an outdoor venue so still have my fingers crossed. Indian had the similar results with their spike. It left as quickly as it came on.

Hmm, Little River band indoors, 8-26, Paris, France, 10-3 and Rodney Crowell 10-26 indoors. Almost certainly had covid for 9-10 months beginning 12-19 or 1-20. Lasted 9-10 months. Got Moderna Vaccine 2,3-20.

Concerts will be mostly old folks like me who tend to be safe. You go to Publix, and most the old folks have on masks.

I’ve got my N95 ready for the flight already. I thought about traveling in a Teflon suit to embarrass the red women.

The organization I work with is flirting with mandating the vaccine. I received mine back in early December. Mainly because I knew this was coming and the govt has already put many different vaccines in my body.

My wife was called back to her office after working from home for a year. Her company was hacked by the ransomware pirates and they didn't pay the ransom but they paid the price. It took 2 months for them to get their systems back up and running. She's currently working from home again but she doesn't know how long that will last. Some of her coworkers have tested positive for Covid and the mask mandate is back in place for their offices. This virus is crazy. I firmly believe it's just gonna be part of normal life going forward.

That's good news, yes. If they get their first shot now they have to/should avoid all public areas until 2 weeks after their second dose. One shot does NOT protect against Delta at all.
