Deflection!!!
Nobody is talking about Biden screwing this thing up.
We’re talking about you posting a link from Israel that was widely discredited yesterday
I'm not talking about Biden. I'm talking about what that article talks about, which is about the possibility that mass vaccinations in the middle of a pandemic actually create more mutations. That's what that Dr. that you have maligned in this thread is worried about and why he mentioned that, if that is the case with Israel, which apparently its not, then that would confirm what he is worried about. You are greatly overreacting. But please continue.

So by posting an article about Biden that nobody was talking about, you were not talking about Biden?
You’re talking yourself in so many circles that you’ve lost track of where you are.

No, you just can't read. The headline is about Biden's strategy. My point is the substance of the article, which you clearly didn't read. Not surprising, you already know everything!

I looked through but it didn't jump out at me. What were the odds of having Covid, being vaccinated, and then getting infected again? The article says those that have only had Covid are 2.34 times more likely to have a reinfection than those that have had Covid and been vaccinated.

But 2.34 times what? If the chances of getting Covid after having it and being vaccinated are 1 out of every 10000, then 2.34 times that isn't significant a chance. If it's 400/1000 then 2.34 times is a quite different risk.

I don’t think anyone is sure at this point. I lost a friend of mine this past week to Covid. He had Covid 6-7 months ago so natural immunity isn’t 100% either. They have not said if it was a variant or not and he was not vaccinated. I would not have gotten vaccinated if I was him either.

Congrats! You played yourself:

"People don’t want the truth. It might get in the way of their narrative."
Keep posting lies.
That’s a great way to get to the truth.

Edit: you posted a tweet that was fraudulent.
I called you on it and posted the correction article.
Now you’re flailing in the wind.

Says guy who didn't read the article, but already formed a conclusion on it's content. That's a great way to get to the truth.
Posting an article without context of the point you’re trying to make is disingenuous at best.
I should remember that you’re the guy who ran away from the Bible thread then cried about it in the recruiting forum.

Israel for the last 7 days has had 238 infections per 100k people. With a total population of 9 million.
Florida at the same time has had 795 per 100k in the Dade county areas with a population close to 10 million.

Just information and an apples to apples comparison

Another thing to consider: Some "experts" are saying that the tests can have difficulty distinguishing between COVID and the flu. It's possible that some actually had the flu, tested positive for COVID, and then caught the real thing. In truth we can be pretty certain that the COVID variants will weaken over time, because that is what mutations normally do. They get weaker and less contagious. My cousin and his GF have COVID right now and they were both fully vaccinated. They are "break through" cases. They had the classic symptons of loss of smell and a general feeling of exhaustion. My uncle and aunt have it too right now. Neither vaccinated and they just have severe cold like symptoms. We probably won't have a real good idea about this until it's all over and we have more data. Hopefully it helps us in the future with potentially more harmful corona viruses in the future.

We were talking about that in the other thread. If you look at the Spanish flu it went very similar to what we’re experiencing. The first couple of mutations got worse and eventually reduced to endemic infections over 4-5 years. At this point it’s fair to say that Covid is never going away. I expect it to be like influenza where there’s a yearly shot with some years being worse than others. Much like last years type B

It's possible it stays close to as strong as the flu in coming years, but it is also possible that it weakens further and is so weak that it is just another strain of the cold, which 20 percent of all cold viruses are corona viruses. Part of being human I suppose.

It’s true that very few have remained as deadly over time. Ebola and Zika are the 2 I referenced earlier. But you’re correct in that most weaken over time. I’m hopeful it becomes as irrelevant as the common cold or falls to the level of the flu. But I think we’re looking at another year of this crap anyway you cut it. If there is any good news it’s the spike in India went away almost as quickly as it flared up.

You are correct I think. I said at the beginning of this we would deal with it for 4 or 5 years before it was gone. To another point of yours, the variant in England caused a huge spike in cases. They didn't lock down or anything and just let it cycle through. Now cases have cratered. We just need to not freak out and just let it all cycle through. No need to panic.

Seven years after H1N1 hit the US, it hit my daughter-in-law, in 2016. Their newborn was 4 weeks old. She almost died. She was on a vent for 7 days.

Numbers are numbers til it's someone you love I guess.

I think we’ve proven that lock downs are not the answer.
My plan is to wash my hands often. And try to be smart about things when I’m in public. There’s some evidence that airplane travel cause some spread and I’m supposed to go to New York at the end of August. If they don’t lock down…….i think I’ll take a bath in hand sanitizer, wrap my body in bubble wrap and put on an N95 for the trip. I have no plans to not live my life though.

Well, if research suggests if you've had Covid you're 2.34 times more likely to be re-infected without the vaccine, then the research ought to knows the odds of re-infection after you've had it with the vaccination.

Since that's where the comparison is being made.

Is that the data now on reinfection? I had not seen that. Although with all the BS flying around it’s hard to keep up with the truth.
For example there’s a study of 450k health care professionals in Africa (I think) that will put the J and J vaccine at 96% effective in preventing ICU stay or Death Vs the Delta variant.
I’ll be interested to see if that’s what the study actually says
