⬆️ @nicksjuzunk this is spot on.

Cars are a depreciating tool, so the best advice is to limit your losses. Buying used will lower the depreciation total, but new has its advantages (worry free transportation). Also, used cars are overvalued right now, so new is a very good plan. Paying all cash is always best, but you’ve been put in a unique situation where that’s not an option. Figure out what your family can afford to put down and pay monthly.

Keep in mind that you will lose the most money to interest in a lease. Interest rates are so good that a 60-month loan either from the bank or dealer will result in very little money lost to interest.

Vehicle choice is also important for your family. My recommendation for the most economical and durable choices are a Camry, Corolla, Accord, or Civic, or if you can find a steal, a CR-V or Rav-4. You cannot go wrong with a Honda or Toyota. I have one of each and both are over 100k miles, and just getting broken in. One I bought new, one used.

Last but most important: pray about your finances and let the Lord lead you. My prayer for you is that He stretches your resources for you and gives you wisdom and clarity in your decisions.
You are correct. Dealerships make their money from used cars and add ons. My previous firm handled five out of the top ten dealership PEG’s. New vehicles have a small mark up compared to used vehicles. Where they get you is the warranties and other add ons. If you can pay cash for a vehicle, that is the way to go. Most always have a small warranty to get you through the first few years.

Iirc the $300mm+ stadium upgrades are funded through donations.

Here's an idea - convince the donors to take about 25% of that, put it through a company, and pay NiL to every player of $100k/year...$85mm for 10 years of this. Bluechips would be lining up to play here tomorrow knowing they'd get $100k/yr the moment they signed on the dotted line. We'd only take a 3 star or two because we wanted to. We'd have a 90% Blue Chip Ratio and the money would do 100x more good for fans than...idk extra wifi or wtf ever.

Through 4 practices I haven’t seen anything from you that anyone else didn’t know...
Oh no….. does that mean I’m losing e-cred? Not much to say right now….. only things I have stated that people may or may not have known…
*HB got significantly less reps the first day…. Not the order they went in but overall reps
* JM was head and shoulders above the rest on day 2
* Bailey and Hooker were the best day 3
* not sure if I mentioned this or not but it’s nothing most don’t know….. J Callaway looks like a Beast and J Hyatt started slow but has really come on

Don’t know much about the rest of the position groups right now….. probably won’t know anything great until they scrimmage or start narrowing down back ups and starters.

Rice had the greatest career because he maintained a high level of elite for a long, long time. That doesn't mean his highest level of elite was higher than every other WR who played the game. It means he was better at sustaining a high level for longer than anyone, which is nothing to scoff at. But if you needed a WR for one season only, Rice is not the one you should pick. It's just a different conversation, greatest and best are two totally different things. Brady is by far the greatest because he's maintained elite status for decades, but there are so, so, so many other QBs I would take for one single season. It's semantics a little bit, but greatest and best are two different conversations.
Dead to me....

Solid idea, but that wouldn’t be tax deductible for the donors. If you can find a way for NIL to pay players and it still be tax deductible, then we’d be cooking with grease.

I know people have different takes on finances. But IMO you should look at your own finances like a business. Businesses fight for the right to over lever themselves. More leverage equals more risk but also more profit. If you are paying down loans that are at or lower than expected inflation you are costing yourself money. You should lever and lever again as long as the rates are low. I’m not saying lever for a jet ski. But for damn sure wouldn’t put money down on a house note in the 2s. I’d put all that in the market and make multiples instead of paying down money that is so cheap. Jmo

Good for him...
NOLA.com's Jeff Duncan reports WR Marquez Callaway has been the "breakout star" of Saints camp.
"There’s a belief inside the building that the offense will be just fine without [Mchael] Thomas," writes Duncan, citing Callaway's position in the offense. Callaway has been the subject of plenty of hype in the wake of Thomas' ankle surgery and Tre'Quan Smith's latest leg injury. The second-year UDFA out of Tennessee, Callaway has spent time as an understudy in New Orleans who received extended looks on offense last season when Thomas was initially hurt, catching 21 passes for 213 scoreless yards as a rookie. Callaway's fantasy ADP is on the rise and looks like the Saints wideout to roster early in the year.
Good for him, at 23, I think hes young enough where he could get the real money.

I‘d purchase…then it’s mine! All mine!

Just keep giving updates and don’t worry about the noise.

Well the business is going to be garbage...keep it a flow-through entity and deduct the losses 😁 You can get away with being unprofitable for about 3 years and still be considered a profit-seeking business and deduct losses...then just start a new entity 😁

Put the money in a foundation. Then distribute the money to the players. Donors get a deduction then. Just have to have a solid reason to be a foundation.
