President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

Well I'm not a Democrat, but I know the party as a whole has not veered sharply socialist. Does the GOP have some outliers? Well, the Democratic party does as well. If they mattered at all, they would have not lost the ENTIRE STATE OF MICHIGAN in the primaries.
I would argue a party that had a couple of openly socialist representatives 10 years ago who now have somewhere between a half dozen to a dozen is a significant jump. I don't see significant pushback from their counterparts to marginalize them.

The fact that you don't recognize the hard left turn of the socialist party.

And your boy is gonna be a disaster as SecTrans. His proposal of taxing miles is a socialist control idea
Both Pete and President Biden have said no mileage tax will be included in the bill. Multiple times. There will be no mileage tax in the bill.

Yep, there are some socialists in the Democratic party. Are you going to admit that there are some Fascists in the GOP?

I've always believed that there is a natural, inevitable, and appropriate movement left in society. The two parties are frantically rowing in opposite directions as the current moves the boat leftward, all that the rowing accomplishes is a tiny and temporary increase or decrease in the speed of that movement.
I believe the move left comes at the twilight of society. There are many examples in ancient civilization, America is just an example in fast forward because there were no real authoritarian restraints to stifle it.

I disagree. Here's why. While both parties are drifting left over time, there isn't some lurch to the extreme left in the D party. The squad folks are simply touted by both the liberal and conservative media. The radicals get a disproportionate amount of coverage. The consumers of that media gradually get confirmation bias those folks are taking over.

Have you seen Biden's policy positions lately? His VP is considered more left than Warren.

Probably why people like Putin and Xi keep things on lockdown.

We've been partially socialist since the beginning. It's always only been a matter of the ratio.

But there was more pride in being an American citizen. Now the more tends to denigrate America and support domestic rioting when it benefits them. Also, there used to be more consensus on illegal immigration. Now the democratic party wants open chaos and a new voting block.

All democrat immigrants in Congress spews hate toward America but ran their azzes over here to take advantage of America's ignorance.

It should come as no surprise we see things differently.

See, the thing is it probably is natural and inevitable but it sure as hell isn't "appropriate". Tytler had a famous quote about it and the FF put a herculean effort into setting up a system that held it off as long as possible.

I got that. But at least we both recognize that both parties drift left over time. That is one of the corner pieces to the puzzle.
No doubt in my mind there is leftward drift. Look at the Ds of the 60s and 70s. More conservative than the "conservative" Rs today.

I haven't. And I am only going to hear about them on VN. I looked at his campaign platform as a candidate but that's it.

I make a distinction between rhetoric, policy positions, speeches, and what legislation (EOs) is actually put forth and passed. His policy positions even if extremely radical don't concern me at all.

In a car it would be considered out of alignment. But of course there are always the lazy who continue to drive even though the person behind them can see all 4 tires clearly. They also never understand why they buy new tires every year

The move left is due to laziness and govt dependence. It's not the direction taken by a prosperous nation

It didn't kill us over the past several millenniums; who knows, it may actually be what has allowed us to thrive.
You wht to fundamentally change this country. That's what your boy promised anyway. Now you have installed cronies who don't give a **** what is good or right. Fundamental change.
