Maybe the black coaches that are ready for this hc job (or anywhere in the department) are smart enough to not take it. Who would want the hc job here... only an idiot at this point. You can lead a horse to water....To this point specifically, can you tell me the most prominent black person in UTs athletic department? Are there any black head coaches in any of the sports?
At the end of the day though, doesn't it really just boil down to math? There are what, 130 FBS college football programs in the country and something like 11% of them are led by an African American head coach. Extrapolate that to the US population, where African Americans make up what, a little over 12%? OK, so it's a LITTLE lower than the US Census I'll grant you. But it's not that far off. Isn't it somewhat fair to say the reason there are so few AA college head coaches is because there's just not nearly as many QUALIFIED candidates to choose from to begin with as there are white candidates?
I think Alabama should fire Saban and get a black hc... good canidates would be tripping over themselves for that job.Unfortunately it isn’t about math. This is a historic problem. If you make the qualified argument you have to explin why they are not qualified.
Also, how many coordinators? ADs? Presidents? Is that proportional? Also, isn’t this the wrong calculation when the overwhelming majority of players are black?
Can you point me to the article that gave you that number btw?
Haynesworth calling for boycott...
^This one has 14 coaches and that was before Mason got fired. That would make below 9% and again, 0 in the SEC.
Soooo... the overwhelming majority of FREE TUITION TO A MAJOR UNIVERSITY is given to black players.... i believe your correct, there IS systemic racism, we need more players of other races! (Since you must have missed my last one)Unfortunately it isn’t about math. This is a historic problem. If you make the qualified argument you have to explin why they are not qualified.

I mean... clearly this means they are being given and unfair chance at making millions of dollar that i will never have the chance at! Damn it!Soooo... the overwhelming majority of FREE TUITION TO A MAJOR UNIVERSITY is given to black players.... i believe your correct, there IS systemic racism, we need more players of other races! Maybe i should simplify it a little for you, if your having trouble... you are correct, we need to balance things out more, no one race should be favored... isnt that what your argument is?

My reading comprehension is fine. Your ability to convey your message is suspect though. See belowRead well at all? I was referring to the racial overtone of the OP!
I don't know. You would have to show me how many black players pursue a career in coaching after their playing days are over.
I didn't get my number from an article. I simply looked up how many current black head coaches there are in FBS (14) and divided that by the total number of FBS programs in the country (130). That comes to 11% of total FBS programs currently being coached by a black head coach. The latest census shows that approx 12% of the current US population is African American. So mathematically, the percentages parallel each other pretty closely.
while I’m not that guy I agree. No interview for Tee is a slap in the faceHaynesworth calling for boycott due to "systemic racism" because Tee Martin wasn't interviewed and hired.
