Is there a chance... and I know this sounds crazy but is it possible the AD is actually doing a thorough job of vetting all candidates and interviewing like he said to make sure we are getting the best possible guy?

Maybe but not likely given that multiple candidates are withdrawing publicly. That would indicate we are either striking out or already have our person.

It is interesting.

We've normally heard by now of the 8 or so names that have turned us down.

That may have still happened but at least we don't have the public embarrassment of it.
