Keep in mind Steele met with White yesterday and I believe Plowman was impressed by him as well. Elliott could be his recommendation. Maybe White was impressed enough to keep Steele around.

Now, I am putting you on the spot. Schematically who's do you like better? Elliott or Chadwell?
I like them both. I love Tony’s history with QBs more than anything Chadwell has done so far but both of them run the type of offense that you have to run to win big in college football now. That’s what’s most important.

Of course i was excited about him but he had a lot of red flags. Certainly a lot more than Elliot. I’m not even sure Elliot has one? Outside of he unknown of haven’t been a HC but like i said before i think being the HC at Tennessee is much like being the president. You’re never truly prepared for this job until you have it. I don’t think being a head coach at Coastal Carolina or Iowa state or Minnesota is anymore preparing you than being a coordinator or a position coach.

So rebuilding a rug matt program that was an automatic win for everyone in that conference and taking them to the Championship game doesn't prepare you for the UT anymore than being a one year OC at Clemson? Really?

That's why I like Elliott more he runs a modern offense and it has scored on Saban.

Not gonna lie... As Hank takes go... They ain't all bad this morning...

One caveat... Pruitt was/is considered a great defensive coach. There was no real buzz about him as a HC candidate, except the interview at MSU. Elliott is widely regarded as a very good HC candidate.

Carry on...

I still go with plowman's statement on HC experience. If Elliott is the floor... Fine. We've had much lower floors before lol

No it doesn’t lol. There’s so much more that goes into being the head coach at a major power.

I gotta agree with you on this. To call Elliot a better coach than Chadwell is kind of dumb.
He could end up being a better coach than Chadwell... but right now, Chadwell IS a head coach and just won coach of the year.
Makes no sense to say Elliot is better, at this point at least.

There’s no way anyone can declare Elliott a better coach than Chadwell, but I would just about guarantee he’s got better connections in the coaching fraternity than Chadwell. FWIW
