Before it gets to crazy in here today guys I need some ankle sock recommendations. I wear a size 13 and socks stretch really easy and after a few wears they start to slip with me inside my shoe. Anybody got anything ? I know this is right up @nicksjuzunk ally , but I'm sure it will be a few days before he gets to this post.

Most socks go up to 12, or 13 and up somewhere or just keep buying new socks.

Maaaaan, how fun is this? We finally fired Pruitt and Fulmer, we then realized we have some serious big time admin in Plowman and Boyd, the younger big money boosters decided to break out the wallets, hired a top 4 AD, we’re about to hire a top tier HC and spring ball is around the corner.

Smiling from ear to ear this morning...

I said it’s great to be a Tennessee Vol!!!
You hear something?!?!

The major problem I see in hiring an OC from Clemson aside from the fact that we'll have growing pains is in this case the guy is going to have to adjust to our strength of schedule. Clemson's strength of schedule averages around #80 year in and year out; Ours is usually top 5, maybe top 10 in a good year. I think it would be a high risk hire to go with any coordinator and perhaps moreso if we get one who has built a resume primarily by beating cupcakes. jmo.

No experience. None. 0. We’ve done the coordinator route.

People are yelling recruiting ties! Pruitt had those. People are yelling elite offensive mind! They said the same about Pruitt’s defensive mind.

It would be incredibly stupid to fire a first time HC who was a coordinator for the best team in college football only to hire another first time HC who is a coordinator for the other best team in college football.

DISASTER
As I’ve said, I prefer a sitting head coach, BUT, is it possible Jeremy Pruitt’s issues were the result of his temperament and personality and not simply because he was a first time HC?

His body of work is fine. And he's trending up. Beat Napier and an 11-1 BYU team.

And yes, if Chadwell had gone 12-0 and beat Freeze, the perception of him would be different. It's hard to argue against undefeated.
At this point, if we hired Chadwell... I'd call it a win.
He might not work out but its worth a shot to get him now and try.
As opposed to pass on him now and a team like South Carolina hires him in 3 years after he continues to succeed.

Makes total sense. Guess VN will have to pick a new guy to obsess over today, my guess is Fickell, who also isnt coming here lol
We hired White specifically because he's good at finding less obvious hires. Most coaches we're discussing are really obvious. Hard to expect the obvious home run types, who are already turning down big time jobs including nfl, to leave good situations like the one Campbell is in. I think White has a better chance to get them to listen, and we can throw enough money to make it happen with someone maybe. But Campbell has never seemed like the guy that will make that move to us imo. Just pure wishful thinking.

Two things....First, I think Elliot is an INFINITELY better person than Pruitt in the way he treats people. Reputation of being a super nice guy.

Second, it seems as though there are people with Tennessee roots that he trusts telling him how much potential really lies on Rocky Top. That’s why he listening here when he hasn’t other places.

The red flags were out with Pruitt. It was known that he was a raging ******* people didn't want to work with.
Everyone sings Elliott's praises.
Completely different scenarios.
Everyone thought Pruitt was the best defensive guy in the Country. His inexperience as a head coach raised his ugly head nd he was unable to learn the ropes in three years, now of which was the Covid year. He hired some really good recruiters; it just turned ut that some of them were good recruiters because they cheated. He says he didn't know they were cheating, but he is still responsible fr their actions and it cost him his job. He had not face the problems associated with being a head coach and he paid the price.

However, that is now water over the dam. Tis is one reason why I hope our new AD selects someone who has been a HC for a few years and had the experience to run our football program. He will face a lot of problems, but at least he has an experienced AD who can help he clean up the mess. I look forward to the next 2-3 years and hope and pray that they will e able to pull our program out of the mud and get us back to the king of the hill in a few years.

You’re literally pulling that out of your butt. Elliot has never been a Hc. Meanwhile Chadwell is coach of the year who went 11-1, lost to Freeze in OT, beat a top ranked BYU team, and finished in the top 10. Not to mention has built programs and won everywhere he’s been.

But sure, Jan. No experience Elliot is better 😒
Chadwell is a fraud. His 4th year at CSU his team regressed. He had 2 losing seasons at CC. He has one good year in a COVID year and all the sudden he's the best thing ever? A year ago nobody knew who he was. Besides what contacts does he have to bring in a good staff? What in roads does he have to get this loaded 22 in state class?

Head coach experience is definitely a ? But i wouldn’t consider it a red flag. Tony is totally different than Pruitt. He’s turned down head coaching offers and had nfl head coaching interviews. That never happens for coordinator.

Pruitt was a Gump bagman pretending to be a good coach.

I am pretty down on an Elliot hire. It flies in the face of the stated preferences. While its unfair to project that Elliot would fail just because Pruitt did. But, as a program builder, if you can't get Campbell, then Neal Brown or Scott Satterfield would seem to have better resume. I also think Napier isn't taking his SEC shot with us.
