We gotta stop comparing all coaches to our past coaches. Just because you can find one similarity doesn't mean they're the same person or coach. Also please don't criticize a coach for winning with with elite talent when we're gonna expect him to recruit and win with elite talent here.

Everyone sings Elliott's praises.
Completely different scenarios.

Both of them worked for arguably the best coaches in College Football.

That doesn’t mean it’ll translate to immediate success here.

There wouldn't be any interviews with former players the days following talking about how they don't think he has the personality to run a program. We got that immediately with Pruitt.

Even in that case, it’s not a “UT doesn’t have the balls situation.” White is one of the most highly regarded AD’s in the game. He’s not going to a school that won’t let him hire the one candidate he thinks is best in the long-term interest of the program, but he came here because Ployman/Boyd are going to let him do his job. If he doesn’t go with Kiffin, it’s because he thinks, long-term, there are better options.

I’m just saying I’m confident enough in his track record to make those calls.

You aren't giving the people on this forum nearly enough credit with that analysis.

Chadwell has been a coach for a while now. You have to look at the full body of work just like every other coach.

With the money that is being thrown around and the trust so many coaches/assistants have with DW, I wouldn't put it past them to be lining Elliot to come in as OC/Assistant coach.... I know it would be a lateral move, but money talks... I will be shocked if he comes in as HC unless DW is able to surround him with top Tier staff, which is completely possible. Will be interesting over the next few days...

But we know they have planes for this that aren't tracked, and so far everything is being tight lipped and everyone in the Admin and AD seem to be on the same page, so it could be anyone... I still choose to believe we will get someone top shelf unless everyone just flat says no.... and I find that hard to believe with DW.
