I truly don’t see how the university, on the edge of major recruiting violation sanctions, can justify hiring a coach that left your school with recruiting violation issues, no matter how long ago it was. How could that possibly happen?I don’t care whose feelings would be hurt...if we could land Kiffin with Steele as DC, and lock him into a contract that guarantees he stays at least 5 years, because his buyout, if he leaves, is so ridiculous no one would touch him (and that includes NFL), then you make it happen ASAP!!! We have more talent than Ole Miss and he was scoring insane points with them. Steele would get the defense turned around. My only reason I don’t see it happening is that the NCAA would probably frown heavily on that move and hammer us more for the infractions. I know this...there are 4 of us on this board who would call the ticket office and request season tickets as soon as the hire is made!
Pretty sure when they flew out there, they had no idea what was coming. My understanding is that both Pruitt and Fulmer felt blindsided by what ultimately happened. They actually thought they would weather this storm. Turns out Hurricane Donde was more than they could handle.Got a real hard time believing that one. Every single one of those players? Why were they flying out to see HT?
I’m not so sure. It’s almost like UT has drawn a line and dared the NCAA to cross, (The Volunteers have done more than their share. How will you respond?).I think Rucker is right. UT has put itself into an almost death penalty state.
I didn’t say he would. I was saying to all those who say no to Stoops, you are crazy if he is willing to say yes and come here. I don’t think he would either. But if he said yes, I would do flips...on the trampoline.Bob stoops hasn’t been coaching by choice.... why would he all of a sudden come back to coach a jacked up tennessee?
Maybe that short stint in the XFL reignited his passion? The way I see it, even if we have no shot, you still pick up the phone and ask. The worst he can say is no. There's always the possibility, even if slim, he's intrigued and says yes. Absolutely nothing to lose in asking.Bob stoops hasn’t been coaching by choice.... why would he all of a sudden come back to coach a jacked up tennessee?
