I honestly don't understand why Freeze is untouchable when Chadwell isn't. As far as I know, Chadwell wasn't calling hookers on a school phone, but he did have an impermissible benefits issue at Charleston Southern that caused them to forfeit games. The only thing I can figure is that Freeze did it at an SEC school, but I don't see why that matters?
Chadwells issues were the compliance department, the basketball team had the same issues. It’s been discussed but most people keep glossing over that fact.

You all know I love Chadwell so I would be very excited about the hire.

One wrinkle to this I haven’t seen discussed: if we are on some type of probation, postseason ban or scholarship reduction, that would only help endear him to our fanbase. It will very easily be sold as “Tennessee boy comes home and fixes the mess an Alabama lifer put us in.”

I’m not arguing he’s a sure thing, and I think the transition from what we’ve done on offense to what he does would be drastic and take some time, but I’d rather give that time to someone who loves this place instead of someone who sees it as a paycheck.

In a recent interview with Tennessee Twoadays podcast he said something along the lines of that in his system he didn’t need to have the best lineman or best running receivers. He thought they had the 8th out of 10 total team in terms of talent out of the SunBelt League but they won bc the kids buy into their scheme and system.

Not trying to gloss over anything. What I read suggested some players received impermissible benefits leading to forfeiture of games.

If his offense relies on smaller OL, I worry about it working in the SEC. I remember Butch's undersized OL getting pushed around.

Not necessarily smaller. But Chadwell may prefer quicker linemen than what Pruitt emphasized in recruiting. Most importantly they just need to be smart and disciplined and be able to get to the 2nd level. Big monster olineman can have these qualities too.

Could someone explain what a "show cause order" is, and how it would follow a coach to their next job?
Basically, if a coach has been given a show cause penalty from the NCAA, he cannot be hired at an NCAA institution unless that institution goes before the NCAA with a good reason for wanting to hire said coach. I'm not sure, but I've not heard of an instance where an institution went against the NCAA to hire someone with a show cause. Donnie Tyndall and Bruce Pearl were given show cause penalties and neither coached in college until their show cause was up.

It was 12 sports total. From what I have read it doesn't even seem intentional. The compliance officer really just didn't know what they were doing and improperly filled out paper work and didn't follow the proper steps to certify athletes.

Watch TN for Big Kat Bryant, hit the portal today and with the connection to Shelton Felton and potential hire of Garner, UT would probably be the favorite landing spot as of today.

AU has another DT in the portal as well, Daquan Newkirk, 4 star JC DT.

I couldn’t find the player thread on Big Kat.
Are you surprised Jammie Robinson went to FSU and not another sec school?
