Saban has absolute power and control over every inch of his program-- and a little bit beyond. Other schools, including UT, share authority up the chain, with the AD, Chancellor and President included in some aspects of decisionmaking.

IDK exactly what Napier would demand and what he would be willing to concede for a job he really wanted. But he's not Saban and he hasn't yet earned the right to demand absolute power and control. And he won't get it from many schools.
I don't think Napier would want or demand complete and total autocracy. None of us know exactly what he would demand until we sat down and discussed these things with him and then worked on a give and take. I'm telling ya, whether it be UT or some other SEC school in the not so distant future, someone is going to get very lucky to have him and I hope that is us.

So apparently Doug Matthews said this morning that Pruitt will only be fired if major infractions were found.

....then said a little bit later he’s heard that major infractions were found.
So it's basically a lose lose situation. I'm all for Pruitt getting canned, but having major infractions is going to set us back as a program and hurt us with any top tier coaching candidates. We just can't have anything nice

That style is proven to work. It seems like a big change like that would be good for us. Why are we so reluctant to change when we have been so bad for so long?

I wonder how far down the hole we will have to fall before so,some has the leverage to get that kind of power in negotiations.

If not now, when?
