Again you have nothing to back up your assumptions. He’s not my first call but he’s also not this horrible hire you are trying to make him out to be. He’d beat the scrubs and we’d be competitive with all the others. It’s what he’s done in the toughest division in all of football for 7 years.

He will be starting out in a MASSIVE hole here. When Pruitt is fired, our already thin roster will get even worse on both sides of the ball as even more guys leave. What kind of defense do you think he is going to field?

Mehlzahn doesn't have the gravitas to fix the mess we are going to be next year. He is a washed up never was.

I just don’t see how some of you complain about Gus but would take a chance on Chadwell or Napier.

Neither one of those guys have SEC experience.

As coaches? Napier does.

My main point was that he said that UT wouldn't score 10 points there was like 6 or 7 mins left in the game and they score 10 points in like 2 mins after he said it. Again, the score I missed by two but that wasn't really my focus it was how horrible the announcers were. Like Batman posted earlier about all they talked about was themselves and how wonderful Dykes was.

Because we’ve seen Gus in an P5 setting and have seen him constantly get worse. @snowvols posted the numbers a few pages back. I’d rather take a chance on a up and comer or one of the other top coaches before Gus.

And again, I am not advocating for a coach just for simply bringing x coach up and asking what the general consensus is.

Just because I’m not obsessed with coaches who are NOT going to be hired here like Freeze, Campbell, Kiffin, Fickell, etc., doesn’t mean I don’t know what I’m talking about.

I bring Brohm up because I know for a fact we hired him in 2017 and that Peyton, the Haslams, and Fulmer were all on board with it and they will all be involved this time around so it’s possible, maybe even likely, they call Brohm again to see if he’s still interested. And things at Purdue haven’t taken off for him like he assumed it would, so my bet is he would be inclined to move if we called.

That would be a good choice. I would rather give a guy a chance that has a high ceiling than just another guy with a Hobbit ceiling.

Hiring Gus is not taking a chance on greatness, it is a one way ticket to another carousel change in 3-4 years.

I thought he was saying that they didn’t have to score 70 to win. He referenced if they didn’t score another bucket that A&M still couldn’t score enough in our defense to win.

I could completely see Fulmer turning on Pruitt, especially if Fulmer felt he could save his job/legacy. Fulmer needs to go and we need a quality AD.
