As opposed to what we just endured or a repeat? I'm trying to steel myself against the inevitable.Rats exiting a sinking ship. I think they know a head coaching change is about to be made. 2021 is going to be a brutal season from the look of things.

Exactly! If this is the case and they came to the realization that Pruitt wasn’t the guy, you do what every other respected program, who is serious about competing, does and you pay the guy his buyout, that BOTH parties agreed to and you start looking for the next guy.Well they need hurry the heck up. This gets worse everyday.
Again. We’re talking about a situation that could come down to an arbitrator or jury letting the UT AD walk away from 12 LARGE. If the very expensive counsel tells you to make no public comment, you make no public comment. Or I could be completely dreaming and they’re all just locked in a room and and arguing and we’re doomed.
So instead of firing him for a 3 win season and paying him his buyout, you come up with an internal investigation for things that were probably well known to be happening so you can “fire him with cause” and now he gets a lawyer and it probably costs you double or even triple what he was owed and going forward, no other coach in their right mind will sign on to work for such an athletics department.I think you are on to something. Pruitt and co have lawyered up most likely. I still think there is something beyond the athletic dept though.

C’mon bud! I’m not trying to start anything and be disrespectful, because I do respect your opinion but you can’t be that naive. If we’re being honest, probably 90% of college football coaches could be “fired with cause”, if the university really wanted to take it that far.The contract also CLEARLY states what constitutes being fired with cause. A contract has two sides. Our AD has a fiduciary responsibility to make sure he lived up to his end. If he didn’t.....then he gets McElwain- ed.
It would be better to just pay him than bleed talent and keep getting dragged in the media like this. This should have been kept quite until they were ready.
