Agreed. Which completely discredits this idea that our preseason Covid issues caused the pitiful season. They unraveled mid season and never recovered. I'm not seeing the causal link to pre-season Covid issues there.

Because its just another excuse for football incompetency. After two successful games plus a solid first half against UGA, all 'not enough practice time' excuses are off the table. At that point the team is in good physical condition and trained to compete.

Halftime of the Georgia game seemed to me that things began to come unraveled. They played well at the beginning of the season.
When JG fell apart, this team fell apart and was never put back together. Some will blame JG. I blame Pruitt for continuing to play him when his play warranted benching. Other players got held responsible for bad play. For whatever reason, JG had a different set of rules. Players see that ****.

So it makes me wonder what might have happened at that moment that caused the downward spiral. From halftime of that game the teams demeanor changed.

What about the all the bye weeks we had because games got moved. Didn't see any improvement then either. Only difference was a change at QB...and I don't think they handled HB and JT very well either

And where was weinke or pruitt when these young QBs came off the field to talk and coach them? I saw JG talking to them on the sidelines, but where were the coaches to check on them and ask them what they were seeing and offering advice?
I agree that I didn’t feel they handled bailey or JT well but Bailey and his parents seem on board with it so it is impossible for me to judge without being over there to watch practices and to know what they were told..... Do I feel they handled the pandemic well? No I do not but I do feel our fans tend to be irrational..... At the end of last season people were claiming Pruitt was our savior and fretting that he was going to leave us for Alabama..... I feel he is probably somewhere in between and would like to see what he could have done with a regular off season since I feel that Bailey is our first decent QB since Pruitt has been here.....

I’m completely fine with moving on but of all the names mentioned, I don’t feel that any of them are a sure thing and we will be starting all over again..... our administration is making it even more difficult with the nonsense they are pulling right now.

@BruinVol most of my deer have disappeared. It's weird. I normally fill up a 32 gig sd card in 1-2 weeks. Usually bunches of does. Last year I had 8 different bucks hanging around. I now get a picture every 2-3 nights and it's usually a loner.

Is he unqualified because he isn’t doing what you want him to do?

He’s done more harm than good.

If not for Boyd stepping in, he would have let Barnes go to UCLA.

Not to mention giving Pruitt a ridiculous extension whom he still thinks will get the job done.

Fulmer worked with Boyd to get the money to keep Barnes. Not sure where that narrative has been coming from. Both wanted to keep Rick.

His best win has been against Auburn and it was a down year for them. Indiana well is Indiana

1. I have travelled between KY and TN more times than I can count since March 2020, and anyone that has done the same can vouch for the difference in covid measures as fact. The results of the KY TN game are well-documented. The part about the universities is deduction, I admit, but based on fact.

2. Most of the team’s publicized covid issues were during fall camp with few major contributors missing throughout the season. It is a logical conclusion that these issues would be more impactful at the beginning of the season than at the end, but the results contradict this.

3. Although this is not the direct quote, someone did bring over a block quote from VQ -it may have been from a war room- where they acknowledged that Pruitt handled the covid situation poorly. It may be their opinion, but they did, in fact, say it.
I actually live here..

Pretty sure UT brass is dragging this out to try and buy time to find a replacement much like Texas did. That being said any coach that would be an acceptable hire and not result in the fans protesting and painting the rock has told them "no thanks"

My personal opinion is if you can’t make a home run hire you bring him back. You don’t blow all that money and start over for Brian Harsin or Kevin Steele like Auburn. Most likely Pruitt is let go midway through next season where hopefully you can get a better candidate. Either way you have kneecapped him and I don’t know how you recover from this. It reminds me of the Les Miles situation at LSU a few years ago. They are ready to move on but you can’t get your tier1 upgrade coach. He knows you shot your shot with the prettier girl and now you’re coming back to him when it didn’t work.

FWIW Everything I have read said the major domino in getting the coaching carousel moving further along is coaches waiting to see what happens with Mullen at Florida. It’s just a much more valued job in the coaching circles.

I haven’t wavered from he will be the coach next season.

This statement is complete BS. I currently live in Kentucky and can tell you that it's much more strict here than in Tennessee.
I was obviously talking about The University of Kentucky football team, not the state as a whole. I live here too by the way..

The UK FOOTBALL TEAM team did not have the mass player contact tracing bullisht issues Tennessee did..or let me make it clear since you're being deliberately obtuse...the
University of Tennessee Volunteer football team.

The state of Kentucky has definitely had much stricter Covid protocols..thanks to Daddy Beshear.
