I agree, the only thing I can think is I’ve heard the boosters there insert themselves in the program a lot. So maybe it’s not a great atmosphere for winning anymore. But if you can’t lock down Texas at the flagship school and can’t take advantage of a conference with little competition outside of OU. And in fact in your tenure, Iowa state rose to NY6 bowl level... id be skeptical

64% in just 4 years after taking over for the worst coach in Texas history, Herman also landed them back to back 3rd ranked classes. They were trending up and despite having to replace both coordinators and deal with Covid they were 7-3 this year with all 3 losses being by a combined 14 points.
