So we wait to next year to fire him and still lose all the above mention guys plus whoever we have on the hook in the 22 class that will be committed/signed with Pruitt ? Its a double edge sword however you spin it. At this point all we are doing is delaying the inevitable by keeping him. I vote we get out front of this while we are basically the only fish in the sea looking for a coach.
It’s far far far more likely that keeping Pruitt and then firing him could really put us behind in 22’. Also, That’s assuming we can even land those 22’ guys with Pruitt anyway after whatever the hell next season might look like with him.

If he’s fired, a few may leave but leave but there isn’t going to be a lot or any that really matter. Ie: Henry T isn’t to leave, find a new coach/system, etc. just stay know you’ll start, make tackles.... get paid.

This whole mass exodus is crazy. It doesn’t happen.

No Canales was a retread and Wells did not have background of Pugh. This is much better than fired NFL coaches and journey man o-line coaches. With the shape we are in right now, this is a good hire.
No it’s not. Felton? Neids? None were good. Friend? Lots of bad.

This is what happens when literally everyone outside of the UT administration knows what Pruitts ultimate fate is, you have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for coaches. If Pruitt is retained be prepared to be totally underwhelmed by the hired. We saw it with Dooley and Butch. He's done.

Not firing a coach because he has a good relationship with the players is the weakest excuse/reason ever. Even the worst coaches always have many players firmly in their camps who think they need more time or who believe factors outside their control are the reason why the team sucks. Then the new coach comes in, they bond with him, and everything is all good once again.

Of course, some players WILL transfer...but that's worthwhile if it means having a better shot at improving recruiting moving forward.

How much do you think we should spend on one of these guys.... none are a sure thing and even Rutgers pays 4 mill a year now?
Well, Napier and Chadwell are making less than some of our assistants. UT offered Gundy $7mil/yr last time around I believe. They could get Gus or Herman for less than that.

And Joel Osteen is the leading example of pure Christian, right?

So many damn hypocrites.
Never do anything wrong
Walk the line
Be pure
Your going to hell if you don’t
Your body is a temple
God only forgives if it’s minimal

All garbage.
Joel lateen is one of the worst excuses for a human being there is.

Untenable. Not putting the genie back in the bottle.

Admin please do everything you can to make this a mutual parting of ways. You allowed this sh!tshow to spin out of control. Pay up.

Get Chadwell in here quick. Young innovative coach that can fire up the team and calm fears. Tennessee guy would help with next recruiting class.

Like I said, I’m a Christian but I struggle lol.
I get it man. We have to be careful about holding people's past sins against them. People sin, they do dumb things, I have certainly done those things. And now, with social media, some people are blackballed forever for it. That stuff has to stop, especially if the thing he did wasn't intended to harm. I have no idea about this Pugh guy, but we have to be careful with that kind of thing.

also, a Christian who sins isn't a hypocrite. The confession of the Christian is not that he is perfect. It that was his claim, then yes he would not only be a hypocrite, but a liar. The confession of the Christian is that he is a sinner who has been covered by the grace of God, had his sins washed away through the blood of Christ, and has been clothed in the righteousness of Christ so that, in spite of his sins, he stands blameless before the throne of God. That's the claim of the Christian.

It’s mumbo jumbo. Bailey is more likely to stay under a new coach than transfer. He’s basically guaranteed to start here next year. Where is he going?

A 30 minute conversation assuages all doubt. Especially if the guy is an offensive-minded coach. All he has to do is show the numbers his QBs put up compared to Proot's.

No one expects him to be perfect but the way he acts comes off very fake.... some of the most evil people in the world have hidden behind religion.... TV evangelicals are some of the main ones.

Fake?

If being fake wins ball games Dabo Sweeney is in the club house already.

Millions and millions live by what mega church’s scream at them only to push donations.

GT. And he would start there.

Although if we hired Herman I think any offensive player considering transfer would be very dumb

I'm torn. Listening to the VQ podcast has me feeling a certain way. Is it really a good idea to fire Pruitt this year?

Imagine firing Pruitt and then Henry, Crouch, Bailey, Wright, Key, Beckwith, Hyatt, and others transfer and Brooks asks out of his LOI. Talk about setting back the program. This roster is just an average roster right now, you're killing the new coach if that happens. The new coach then starts with a significant deficit in roster numbers, a serious lack of talent, and very little time to add transfers, especially any good ones, who can help. Such a UT thing for this to be happening when that transfer rule is about to take affect. Just like waiting until 2017 to fire butch the first year of the early signing period.
We’re gonna lose players no matter if it’s this yr or next. It happens. CUT your loses now

So the guy VN does not want, does not want to coach at Tennessee. I am telling you, more and more coach do not want to coach in Knoxville and the reason they do not want to come has nothing to do with Jeremy Pruitt.
I think Ron is right. I think Jerm couldn't hire Pugh so he took the Baylor job.
