I think Neids hasn't been that bad for what he brought. A staff can use a guy like him. I was disappointed with Felton and Brumbaugh. I would have thought Pruitt would have hired someone he previously worked with.

Plenty of good hires available to keep players from transferring and add good transfers. Herman, Gus, Chadwell, Napier, all those guys would be able to sell a vision to the current team and to possible transfers.

Stop listening to VQ. AP is Pruitts mouthpiece. This players would not leave. Same thing is said every time a change is made. If he gets another year, we aren’t winning more than six. Then our juniors declare anyways and are gone the next year anyways. But then we are left with this average class and another bad one next year. It buried us further to keep him.

I'm torn. Listening to the VQ podcast has me feeling a certain way. Is it really a good idea to fire Pruitt this year?

Imagine firing Pruitt and then Henry, Crouch, Bailey, Wright, Key, Beckwith, Hyatt, and others transfer and Brooks asks out of his LOI. Talk about setting back the program. This roster is just an average roster right now, you're killing the new coach if that happens. The new coach then starts with a significant deficit in roster numbers, a serious lack of talent, and very little time to add transfers, especially any good ones, who can help. Such a UT thing for this to be happening when that transfer rule is about to take affect. Just like waiting until 2017 to fire butch the first year of the early signing period.

They definitely waited too long. But you can't make a long term decision based off just what happens next year.

If he's the guy to lead our program into the future, fine. But back him up and quiet the smoke around him. Give the guy a chance.

The way it's going i'm thinking this Pruitt/TN relationship might be fractured beyond repair. But who knows anymore.

No Canales was a retread and Wells did not have background of Pugh. This is much better than fired NFL coaches and journey man o-line coaches. With the shape we are in right now, this is a good hire.

Saying that and following through with it are two different things. Albeit, in today’s society, they’ve made it much easier to quit and go somewhere else.

Listen...there's enough justification to not hire Pugh based off his lackluster resume, he's also bounced after a single season almost every stop he's been at. Troy is the first 2nd year job he's held.

And they got worse at running the ball in season 2 under him.

I’m good with making a good hire from OUR list. Problem is UT hasn’t made a good hire since Kiffin. I don’t expect them to make a significant upgrade this time either IF we make a move.

Wow. That’s pretty judgmental.

I’m a Christian, more specifically, a white, male, conservative preacher kind of Christian. No one is more judged, called a racist, a bigot or intolerant and considered more toxic that someone in my category. Masculinity is under an attack and the repercussions have been the loss of a strong male presence in the home.
The Freezes and Dabo’s of the world are constantly being hammered because they failed or have a behind the scenes reputation for failing. they are called fake by people who, if their lives were constantly on display would probably be ashamed, embarrassed or even fired. I don’t condone what Freeze did. It was wrong. His rampant lying (if that’s true) is wrong. His aggressive cheating (if true) is wrong. But the only ones that needed to forgive him (his wife and kids) already have. That’s what grace looks like. At the same time, as a public figure in a prominent place of leadership, there’s more expected of him and he has to be held accountable for his actions. He was fired, has been disgraced and given a second chance and is making the most of it. He may never get a chance at a big time school (I think he will) because of his mistakes and that’s something he will have to live with. But if he does, I’ll be cheering him on unless he’s at Florida.
I know what failure feels like and trust me, the shame and guilt of letting your family down, your friends down and yourself down is something you have to live with the rest of your life. Anyway, rant over.

Yes it’s worth it. players don’t worship JP. They aren’t going to derail their career or set them back by moving to a new situation on a new depth chart.
