Doesn’t pruitts buyout go down each year..... do we save money with the lowered buyout plus new assistants or would it be cheaper this year?

Pruitts buyout goes down and Chaney has a deal that runs through 2021 paying him 1.7 million.

It’s probably almost even, cost wise, to make a change this year vs giving Pruitt another year to turn it around and potentially making a change next season. But like others said last night, feels like Pruitt gets two more years.

Yeah probably takes at least 5 years to completely wreck a program.

I was just curious.... people had mentioned the buyout saving money and I didn’t think it would based on what you just said so I wondered if which way was better cost wise...... I would guess if he bounces back to an 8 win season he is safe.... 7 possibly..... 6 and below.... they would move on depending on what the games looked like.

Texas keeps trying to repay us for all the work at the Alamo.

C'mon UT officials - accept the final payment. The first installment worked out well. It will not get less expensive to wait until this time next year or the following. The cumulative loss of income will be far more than the buyouts. People will not go to watch a proven shiz show unless you give tickets away for free.

Unlike some on here I see Texas being a thorn in the side of Okie and the B12 now. Get ready for the legit "Texas is back" claims. Put your cup on as they will be correct with their "the real UT" claims as well if our side keeps Jeremy.

Go big or go home. Our UT has chosen to get lucky or go home for a dozen years. They should never go to Vegas. Kiffin was the legit shot at relevance who had other plans due to his immaturity, which should have been noticed by Hamilton and the gang during the interview process. Al Davis warned them and they would not listen. What happened since has been one panic hire after another, followed by keeping failures a year longer than necessary. Rinse and repeat for 2021?

They need to learn the lesson and make the easy hire that brings winning and money back to the hill. No or an insignificant buyout to pay if they choose the right one from a couple of viable candidates.

Many believe this call came from above. Doug had to ask permission to bench Wentz and he also had staff changes forced on him by owner/GM. The vibe in Philly is a mess but it’s more because owner/GM fell in love with a mediocre QB and Doug never did.

Academics don’t set the rules on admissions. That’s the administration as well as standard NCAA rules. UT doesn’t have a special admits policy but special admits happen all the time on a case by case basis. If an athlete meets NCAA requirements and UT refuses acceptance then that is on administration. In such a scenario where the athlete has met NCAA requirements and UT rejects and coaches can’t get a special admit there is something seriously amiss in the prospective student’s background. Otherwise administration is going to auto approve special admits for star athletes.
Wasn’t this the issue a few years ago with a really good DB? Can’t recall his name, met ncaa requirements but UT wouldn’t allow admittance? Was under either Dooley or Jones?
