Hope they all transfer.

If you’re so unhappy with the team/program, that you’re actively rooting for them to fail... then maybe find something else to occupy your time. 🤷‍♂️

Why devote endless hours to something that’s making you miserable?

I know you were so cocksure a change was coming, mocking those of us who didn’t “understand hubbanese” or were too stupid to “read between the lines” .... only to figure out you got played like a fiddle by “insiders” yet again. But the angst you now feel will pass. I promise.

Maybe log out for a bit until super homer Ron comes back. 😉

I agree with this. How many times do they need to see the same movie to finally get it?

IIRC you were not real high on Jeremy even being hired initially.
I had my doubts. I was willing to give him a chance. I thought Fulmer could spot a football coach. He was wrong. Pruitt is not a head football coach and doubt he ever will be. I've been out on him since the first two games last year. I haven't said much because I didn't want to be a downer in the RF. I've said it many times before, Tennessee is not the place to come to learn how to be a head coach. It's an insult to this university. It's an insult to the great players that have made Tennessee what it was. It's an insult to the fans that buy tickets and spend countless hours in the fall to watch their Vols.

I was a huge advocate of Fulmer getting the AD job. I'm extremely disappointed in how he's handled the football program. I can give him the benefit of the doubt on the situation he inherited but his stubbornness to try and salvage this catastrophe tells me he hasn't a clue what it's going to take to turn the program around. He's so determined to show he made the right hire he can't see the damage being done. He seems to be the only one that is oblivious to the state of the program.

Can they really "block" anyone though? They absolutely have to place the kid in the portal within 2 days of the 'notification of transfer'. They can try to talk them back off the ledge, but if they are keeping them out of the portal, that would be a violation and they should contact the NCAA.

Yeah, the staff has always come out and said they would fully support and help facilitate any kid who wanted to transfer. This feels like more piling on Pruitt and Fulmer.

If Chaney stays how on earth is this team gonna win at least 6 games next year? His best year at UT was with the outstanding talent of the 2012 team. Next year won't compare. Pruitt's only chance to even start digging out of this insurmountable hole next year is to hire an innovative OC with a system that's not too complex to have success with in year 1. I like Chaney but as we all know his offenses thrive with superior talent like most pro style based systems do. We don't have that talent yet. I'm hoping Pruitt can at least improve the defense next season but offense needs to be his focal point if he wants to survive.

The simple answer is they wont

How can they block a transfer? I thought everyone gets a free transfer this year?
They haven't been able to block transfers for a few years now. The portal changed the model from a request to a notification of transfer.

There is no "free transfer" yet. That will be voted on in January. They did pass a temporary waiver for guys already enrolled in their new school in the Fall...mostly helping basketball players waiting to hear on their waiver request. Similar to what Sankey did in the SEC.

Is Gilbert coming to UT?

Highly doubt it. Especially after how little TE’s have been targeted here the past couple years.

Although Bailey was the only one able to find them.

Maybe us targeting TE’s the last two weeks was by design? To sell to TE’s that we will target them?

But naw, seems like a pipe dream. He could go anywhere- don’t see how coming here would even warrant consideration.

I feel sorry for the people who support Pruitt as the head coach. The ones who think he is doing the best he can with what he has. The ones who think he just needs more time. He will not succeed here. Next season will be terrible and we will lose one of the best in state classes we have had in a very long time. He will eventually be fired. You are not intelligent. You should have a job working for the athletic department. You would fit right in.

You sir are a Troll. Find another bridge. Own it.

Somebody mentioned how people get out of the habit of going to games.

Across the nation, churches have seen their attendance plummet as they have been able to open their doors because people got used to doing other things... or just sleeping in, on Sunday mornings.

This fan base has every reason to drop Saturdays at Neyland and not much incentive to go watch us get blown out or maybe get that hard earned victory vs Vandy and South Carolina.

Dangerous game they are playing and I think they will not like how it ends

Such a good observation, nick. So true. It happens almost without notice until it has gone too far.

Tennessee football is in the decline stage of the life cycle. That's why the big money/AD think they need to spend tens of millions on the "fan experience" instead of a lesser amount on winning. Their thinking is twisted, which has led us to this point. The program hit the mature part of the cycle from the mid 90's through around 2005. They have milked it for all it was worth for as long as they could and it headed downhill into decline. They are now nearing the dead dog stage. The only way back to growth and success is to invest available funds into the product that strongly adds the most customers and rebuilds the brand - which is the team winning at a high level. As we say in the Christian faith, keeping the main thing the main thing. Just building a new or improved sanctuary will not do the job. Very few people will come in just to experience the building in church life or football. You lose entire generations with that type thinking.

Just click bait
Hes not even in the portal
Would be such a weird/bad decision to sit a year. Dude is 24 months from prepping for the draft. OR Coach O/LSU is in for some maaajor shiz. Even then, I'd think he'd go OOC and keep playing.

Dude I have us at 2. MAX! And that’s if one of the teams we play has catastrophic injuries on their depth chart.

We’re gonna be horrible. Terrible. So bad. Easily the worst team in history.

Because Fahr Pruitt! Doom and gloom! Death and misery.

And such....

Look how bad our LB play was. How are they going to fix that for next Fall? I know we got some from Memphis but none of them have even play yet as far as the LB position. Banks can't cover anyone so he isn't any help. Our whole defense for that matter is just awful.

Bailey is the only draw and as we already know theres no guarantee it will always be Bailey throwing the ball.

I remember Coach Majors talking about when players would transfer down a level from UT saying “The University of Tennessee is not a training ground for Carson Newman College. We are a destination for the best football players in the country.” RIP, Coach

Bailey sure, but IIRC the story was Ojulari and Gilbert were a lot closer friends than they were with Bailey. I want to say when Ojulari decommitted and went to LSU the VQ guys emphasized how they were such good friends.
