Somebody mentioned how people get out of the habit of going to games.

Across the nation, churches have seen their attendance plummet as they have been able to open their doors because people got used to doing other things... or just sleeping in, on Sunday mornings.

This fan base has every reason to drop Saturdays at Neyland and not much incentive to go watch us get blown out or maybe get that hard earned victory vs Vandy and South Carolina.

Dangerous game they are playing and I think they will not like how it ends

FWIW Doug Matthews said on the Zone this morning that Pruitt likes Chaney and has faith in him. He said he expects Chaney to be given more control next year, and will likely coach QB's.

Well, he doesent have JG so it should be full go. No more excuses.

It's going to cost more to keep him than to fire him. Wait and see. He'll be out by mid season next year. Maybe not officially but it'll be a forgone conclusion. We'll have new assistants to buy out, attendance will be laughable. The roster will look like Vandy in our game this year. No coach worth his weight in fruit-of-the-looms will want to come here.
Yep.

Well, if Pruitt is back ill support him. Just hope he somehow figures it out.
Not sure a HC has ever done so after such an awful first 3 years.

He has to figure it out if TN wants to be relevant.

Next year, sure. But take one of a few HCs once he is fired and we'll be immediately relevant going into 2022.

Pruitt may be able to take all our hope for the next 12 months, but not after that.

I’ll say 7-5 right now

No JG on the roster makes this team better already, we have a few guys in this class that’ll be instant impact guys and depending on Bailey/Salter progression and the transfer QB the playbook will be opened up a lot more offensively, hopefully Covid isn’t there to ravage the OL and DL. Think we’ll make a good enough hire to get a lot more out of those guys. The big concerns are pass rush and covering the slant, which will probably lead us to struggle against teams that score a bunch of points. This is probably what we would’ve been this season with a regular schedule anyways. Still not to what should be the standard but good enough to stabalize things and won’t cause a mass exodus of recruits

If you seriously think this team (without the burden of Guarantano and Will Friend) doing worse than a 6-6 record when we have cupcakes on the schedule, then you’re either too emotionally ridden on hating the current HC or mentally challenged. Too much talent on both sides for that to happen regardless who the HC is

That being said, 6-6 should get you fired at Tennessee.
This is where I am. It’s not what we should want in year 4, but maybe it will be enough to land a strong recruiting class and get us trending back up.

My friend inside the program just texted me that Pruitt and Fulmer are both actively trying to block transfers for multiple starters. You can probably skim through old posts and guess as to who one or more of them may be, just passing it along. Sounds like Pruitt’s former gripes with Kirby, harbaugh, and others blocking transfer are pot calling the kettle....
Hope they all transfer.

What does 3-7 have to do with our discussion? No one cares about what the facts are. Being enrolled means a kid is in school. Committing or decommitting doesn’t matter. Fact is that Dooley did benefit from 8 guys being already enrolled because of how late Kiffin left. Facts.
Not all of them were enrolled. Not sure what’s so hard about it.
