so,
When @MetalVolunteer and @Atlanta VOL and @ob79 were all exclaiming a week or so ago that we were finally getting serious about winning and “swinging for the fences”...

What was that about?

We’re gonna hire some truly mercenary assistant coaches to come in for a year till the program crumbles even more and then we have to make an 11th hour desperation hire at this point next year after a miserable season and recruiting tanks?

Sweet.

Count me out on that. I’ve been through that cycle too much the last dozen years.

Or it could be, and stay with me here, that they are full of $hit.

They haven’t lost anyone through transfers that can’t be easily replaced so far.

They’ve lost 11- 13 bodies already and we aren’t officially in the off-season. No body that can help is going to be jumping at the bit to commit to Tennessee. There’s a lot of talent in the 22 class that can help but Tennessee chose to keep the coach.

Omg. The floor, the ceiling, the expectations, the resources, the budgets, etc. Are not the same at the programs. All rebuilds are not equal. Those years for Mullen gets him job security. You do that at any blue blood program and you’re on the hot seat. What do you not understand?

Also, if you go back to my original post about the rebuilding comment you will clearly see I said rebuilds do not take 4-5 years ESPECIALLY at established programs. And you have yet to give any examples of the contrary. Your view of what a rebuild is, is skewed
And you gave me UGA, Fla, and A&M as examples of rebuilds. If you think our mess here is in the same stratosphere as theirs then I cant help you.

The talent pool of coaches comment stuck with me. If Bob is to be believed, and I'm not sure he is, then it confirms something I've suspected. The fans coaching search candidates and the real search candidates aren't the same.

We're hoping for surf and turf from the best establishment in town but we're not on the exclusive dining list, we're getting our meals from the chain establishment down the block. I believe this without question, we are getting second and third tier candidates at best.

It makes no sense. We are bleeding 🩸 assistants and players and yet no word from on high. I realize the factions are all busy fighting it out but at this point a statement needs to be made even if it’s a straight up lie where you give a vote of confidence and fire him days later. Holidays, COVID, infighting, and whatever else is going down something needs to be said. This feels every bit as effed up as our search under Bahama John despite there not being an official search.
We are not bleeding players. I wish Shrout had stayed, but every transfer so far will go to a lower tiered school or conference

They want us to believe they cant get anyone. It's not hard to figure that out.

Wait wait wait... so now rebuilds aren’t equal? Huh that’s funny. Weren't you just comparing MSU to Tennessee?

Exactly. Besides Pope we haven't lost anyone if importance. I hate to break it to some folks but DeAndre wasn't that good and isn't a big loss. Probably would've been behind Brooks and Young at least next year.
