Putting the puzzle together. Pruitt is seemingly freed from quarantine in the next few hours. Strong hints of something being decided last night amongst the powers that be. A lot of trusted insiders still are under the belief he is gone. Tomorrow the 30th just seems to make sense. You can announce it. Then you have News Years, then early to mid next week you have the replacement announcement. I believe they want a quick replacement and not have a "search" appear to drag on. Now I think the question is Napier or Freeze? I think there's some divide on who would be the better hire.

Thanks, I thought there may have been some contractual obligations ready to expire by the year-end for Pruitt and staff. I made the wrong assumptions.

There are small bonuses-- but few that will kick in this year. The contracts are different, but expiring contracts run through Jan 2021 and buyout clauses generally reset Feb 1.

We did win 8 a year ago and now we should have Bailey all year..... a more veteran team with possibly better talent since we weren’t really able to get the younger guys involved as much due to no off season.
8 with a bowl win. That means 7-5.

If 7-5 is good enough in year 4, then god bless UTAD's heart.

Not really, we ve hired 4 coaches since 2009.

UT hasnt done anything that tells me thats going to change if Pruitt is fired. It will make a lot of fans happy until the replacement is named. Until further notice UT doesnt have a firing problem, it has a hiring problem.

That was a disappointing answer but you don't need to leave lol. It is getting silly though, I agree.

Your reasons are fairly logical but is that enough to make you even close to 99.9% sure?

They don’t need a public announcement.
So you think they would call all of them individually and say Pruitt is staying, instead of just releasing a statement one time?

Interesting. That makes zero logical sense, so that actually does sound like something they would do.

Just got my first dose of the vaccine. They talked me into it. Figured the govt. would make it mandatory soon.
@volatil has almost finished his transition to a zombie from his first dose. He’s auditioning for the Walking Dead as we speak. No telling what y’all will turn in to after the 2nd dose.

Just feels like all this speculation is so avoidable.

If Pruitt is returning they've got to come out and support him. Pruitt himself needs to address the fanbase that's lost faith in him. What is his plan for making this right? Convince everybody that you're the coach and you're in it for the long haul. There is a path here but we can't sit on our hands anymore if this is the direction we're headed.

All this "well it's christmas and the university is closed, so everyone is on vacation" and "the right people haven't met yet" comments are bs. College football is a year round competition. Every minute you are letting this noise go on it's hurting Pruitt in recruiting/staff changes/current players transfer decisions. Perception is reality. This stuff will ultimately effect the product on the field.

This is the mistake they made after Butch was fired. They acted like the opinion of the fans didn't matter and tried to shove Schiano down our throats after speculation was far out of control. It didn't work and it appears they haven't learned the lesson. They created that mess by assuming we weren't part of the equation. It backfired and they looked like fools. We all did in a lot of ways. It made this job undesirable and was shameful for Tennessee. And then here we are again. Unbelievable.

Make. A. Decision.
If his plan to magically turn this thing around moving forward is more ChaneyBall and saying "we just need to execute better" I might just lose my ish.
