7-5 is a pretty good year, but not in Year 4 of a new regime, especially one already on the hot seat.
It will do nothing to inspire confidence either within the fanbase or the ‘22 class that is critically important.
7-5 with Jeremy Pruitt feels like a waste.
7-5 with Billy Napier, Jamey Chadwell, etc., feels like the start of something exciting.
One is a plateau, one is the beginning.
Yep a coach that sucks bad enough that a 7 win season looks like a masterpiece in comparison.I agree that 7 wins is unlikely, but it is possible. And because it’s technically unlikely, it would be treated like a good coaching year if it happened. Maybe not by people like me who wanted Pruitt out in the first place, but others would use it as justification for Season 5.

Kingsport is a town, right now. Today, struggling economically. Look around the Tri Cities. Do you see growth? Perhaps in medical or retail sector, which to me is just moving pieces around.I live in Kingsport and don't really see any of what you're talking about. There are parts near the downtown area that have a small homeless population but nothing like what you describe. I lived in Memphis for four years and there is way more crime there. But like any place, there are areas that are more slummy
Absolutely won’t inspire fan base.
Absolutely do not know how kids in the ‘22 class will respond. Unless you yourself is in the ‘22 class and you and your buddies have all sat around discussing this?
Keep in mind the fan base is much more dramatic than recruits.
Seven wins should never be celebrated or even feel decent about. Just can’t stomach 7 and feel good about a coach in his 4th season. This season should be 9 wins at min. Again it’s his 4th season
I get it many of you feel that way but I just see 9-3 being the ceiling with how strong florida, Georgia and Alabama are. I enjoyed the 90s more than anyone but I fully realize just how down the SEC was then and we took advantage of that. This isn’t fulmers SEC anymore and we shouldn’t expect the same results either imo
Yep been a couple weeks or so. Got tested early and was negative but never got better. Went back Monday and tested positive so was bummed. It does change your outlook when it’s you, statistically odds are definitely on your side but then you read about someone dying after 2 weeks, so does scare you a little. So far not too bad..I did not know you were going through it. Hope you have a full and speedy recovery.
lol never said we would but you’re already high this morning if you think you know how 17-18 yr olds are gonna react to stuff
i think that's kinda a different comparison.I live in Kingsport and don't really see any of what you're talking about. So, share time for me. A little over a year ago my wife talked her cousin into going into rehab after he got a DUI and his license suspended. Dude was at rock bottom. He was broke, no car, no license, and hooked on opioids. He spent two months in the rehab facility, then moved in with us, and just started getting his feet under him when the pandemic hit.
Fast forward a year later. He’s clean. Stayed clean. He has his license back, and a full time job working with a contractor who been letting him drive a work truck back and forth from the house until he can get his own truck. The contractor is scared of losing him that he’s been getting steady raises and they’re working out some health insurance options.
And the dude snuck my two amps out of the house... to get them repaired as a Christmas gift. I’ve been meaning to get them fixed for a couple years now and that just meant the world to me.
The world feels like a real crappy place sometimes, and I’m thankful my wife got her cousin back.
Happy holidays, everyone...
Per 247, and this is rough counting on the fly, we’ve signed 14 of the Top 60 players in-state over the last three cycles. Only 2 in the top 20 this year.Absolutely won’t inspire fan base.

But but but... to be a true “fan” you have to endure the mediocrity and love loooongsufferingI'm not up for chasing mediocrity in 2021. So, I'm sure not up for worse than mediocrity with the same leadership that gave it to us in 2020. Where's the hope for the future with that? My devout fandom over a lot of years has earned me the right to call it out. So ignore this post if all you want are rainbows, lollipops and unicorns.
If the power players settle for mediocrity, there's nothing we can do about it other than empty Neyland. Jeremy's got to go. Phil can go with him if he's choosing wrongly. 2021 should be about choosing to commit to being exceptional and choosing to give your all for Tennessee. There is nothing about this program over the past three years that indicates that is even being attempted. So why should we as fans give our all to the program? It is a pointless exercise that provides no reward to Tennessee. It only prolongs the inevitable and makes the issues worse by enabling them to continue.
All of it starts with Randy Boyd and goes down the chain from there. If they choose wisely, they will have huge support from Vol faithful and the mess they have made of things over the past 15 years can draw to a conclusion. If they choose to put lipstick on the pig, it all will crater again and they will lose even more orange blooded fans permanently.
This is the week to act one way or the other.
