No,

No, I think the wheels fall off early after losing to Pitt. Probably gone half way into season and an interim finishes it out.
I don’t think Fulmer would fire him mid season. We’d have to endure more lopsided losses and wait until about this time next year to have a new coach. It’ll be Butch 2.0.

Hey @StoVol thanks for the offer to get some grub yesterday. That was a definite Volbro moment... 👊🏼 After a brutal morning, I ended up ordering takeout from Calhouns (could’ve been worse) and watching the first 3 Die Hard movies... (I’d honestly never seen them)... All in all, it was better than I thought... but I’ll say this: I wouldn’t wish divorce on anyone. Well, mostly anyone. My thought was if I could get through the emotions of the 24th and 25th of December and I knew I’d be okay. I accomplished that goal and feel good. I appreciate the well wishes and prayers. So many people have it a lot worse and lost loved ones for good this year. I’m a blessed man.
Went thru it 20 years ago. Divorced, got custody of my three little ones, lost my dad and a good job all in the space of about 2 years. Was a very rough time.

You will get thru it and come out the other side a better man.. Hang in, keep moving forward and ask for help when you need it.. 👍

So, uh, does anyone on here believe Pruitt has any chance whatsoever of turning this around next year?
Not really. A whole new bunch of assistants the team will have to adjust to. So upperclassmen will be learning as well. Transfers to fill voids. Transfer QBs and we know that usually works out. He will still be hard headed and Fulmer will still interfere (If the reports are true). Rinse and repeat.

Oh, and FYI, my Christmas present was peace. No bit*hing woman to derail the day with her incessant nagging and complaining. Sorry, too far? 🤦🏻‍♂️
Hey blood. I'm traveling today. Got icy here. Our road guy didn't have his guys working on Eve so had to send them out on Christmas. It's supposed to get warm enough today to melt so I'll be taking off at around lunchtime. Let's meet up and I'll buy you lunch. I do what I say I'm going to do but yesterday was kinda challenging.

I am actually going to visit my best friend who died- his son. So I called him yesterday and told him. Was looking for you to post then and update you as well. I apologize brother

Sorry to hear man. Glad to hear things on the up and up!

Happy 2021

Ask for help...or more specifically...exalt He who was given to this World. And smile knowing His grace is enough.

Hate to be the one that breaks this but Hitler is already dead.
Why you gotta go a ruin the game for Jack like that?....

Intelligence has reports that he’s in Vienna with the possibility of later entering the fortified city of Tannenburg. If so, Dietrich Bonhoeffer has a remote chance of being able to poison the fuhrer’s food. If the plot fails then execution for the conspirators is likely.

They are a lot better than us right at this moment. They led the nation in sacks and tackles for loss and their QB is coming back for a 5th year with the covid rule. They were 6-3 in the games he played and two of the losses were by one point. Their RB had 250 yards in his last game.

I just can’t look at their year against that competition and say they are better than us. They got destroyed against the good teams even worse than we did. The QB you speak so highly of threw 9picks and only 13 TDs

I think we would beat them tomorrow in a close game but next September I just can’t see them staying very close if we Improve at all

God I love redemption stories. Thanks for sharing. Right in the feels.

redemption stories are special for sure. I loved the one the op shared

In a less important way the Vols and Pruitt can be a more public celebrated redemption story next year. Looks like we need to get behind hoping that happens.

I can see a path in which the offense is pretty good. Maybe with a full S&C program the offensive line fixes its issues. A fine stable of running backs and good receivers should help HB in his second year.

I just don’t see the same path for the defense. There’s no difference makers on the defensive line, and we all know what no pass rush does to this defense. Maybe some of the young linebackers step up, but usually in lame duck seasons you get the least amount of development because players stop listening to the coach.

I’ve said it a couple times, if the bar is 6 or 7 wins, I think we can get there. But I anticipate this fanbase expecting 8 or 9 wins, which is probably impossible.

9 is next to impossible and shouldn’t even be discussed as an expectation but 8 is possible if everything goes right. Starting off 3 or 4-0 will help get the confidence back for the players and wrongly will get fans thinking 9-10 wins.

The problem is the bar is going to be 6 wins every year with this staff

5 wins max stop with this crap

My daughter got me a really cool gift. She purchased me a drive in a performance car at a racetrack. I get to choose from several cars including a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, a McLaren, a mustang Shelby gt500, and numerous others. The tracks are at many NASCAR tracks including Daytona, Talladega, Atlanta, and Charlotte. Can't decide what car to try.

I did that a couple of years ago. It was a blast. On my list to do it again, because I want to try and push it faster next time. Only got three laps, and it goes quickly. It’s amazing to be able to drive so fast around curves and come flying down a straightaway with the instructor in the passenger seat yelling for you to brake, brake, brake to get through the bottom turn. Then you mash the gas again and snake back through the track. I did a Ferrari when I went. I’m 6’3”, and it was snug. Perfect fit. Would have done the Shelby if that was an option. They had a Hellcat at mine, and it sounded incredible. But it was a dream of mine to drive a Ferrari.

It’s an excellent gift. Congrats.

Yeah, it’s part of the reason they should pull the plug now. Pruitt is never going to win anything here, but we can lower our expectations so he survives for a while.

If you bring him back after 3-7, I personally believe it’s pretty easy to justify bringing him back next season at 6-6 or 7-5 - especially if we get a fluke win over Georgia or something thrown in the mix.

Then we’ll all be geared up for 2022, expecting a big step forward, and only get 7 or 8 wins, max.

Next year probably has the easiest schedule I can remember - it should be given to a new coach to help build some momentum. Not used as a life preserver for a coach we know can’t cut it.

I am convinced the next time he doesn’t win 7 regular season games the change will be made.

Your post makes it seem like 7-5 isn’t “good” and I think we have to remind ourselves that this program has won 8 only twice since fulmer left. Winning 7 would be a very solid season and should be celebrated as such imo

We get destroyed against bad teams so I dont really know what that proves. I cant really buy into competition arguments when our coach lost to GA St, so its not out of the realm of possibility he would lose to Pitt.

4 of Pickett's ints came vs Clemson and our defense isn't anywhere near theirs.

Maybe we would beat them under Pruitt next season, but hopefully we never get a chance to see. I just think we would have to improve significantly to beat them or any other decent teams on the schedule, we would need to improve just to beat some of the bad teams and he didnt show he could improve the team at all this season.

7-5 is a pretty good year, but not in Year 4 of a new regime, especially one already on the hot seat.

It will do nothing to inspire confidence either within the fanbase or the ‘22 class that is critically important.

7-5 with Jeremy Pruitt feels like a waste.

7-5 with Billy Napier, Jamey Chadwell, etc., feels like the start of something exciting.

One is a plateau, one is the beginning.

it’s just hard for me to compare games against that ACC and an OOC game and our 10 SEC games. Imo they played a 3-4 teams that are very comparable to vandy.

It’s just a hard year for discussions like this but I certainly respect your opinion
