To all the big money boosters, highly paid coaches, AD's, univ. president, chancellor, etc..., SWALLOW YOUR EGO AND GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!. Like it or not, this isn't about you. It is about the student athletes who have been blessed with physical talent and the opportunity to showcase them on the football field and in other sports. Most importantly, it is about us, the fans, and true supporters of UT athletics. Why, because we have more invested than simply our checkbooks. If these boosters want to be true "Donors", then do so by the true definition of the word. A donation is something of value given with no expectations of anything in return. Currently, our boosters act more like lobbyists than true donors. They belong in Washington DC, not Knoxville.
This football program was once great. It was once feared. Saturday games and events used to be a theatrical show as much as a sporting contest. I am not one whose life revolves around UT Football. When I was younger, and UT had people in place who actually gave two sh!ts about the football program and placed its success above their personal egos, I never missed a game. Either in person or on tv. I used to record every game, even if I was going to the game. Now, not so much.
To end with this: To the "decision makers", I don't care if the candidate is your choice or not, go find UT a coach who is competitive, knows football, gives a sh!t about UT football and winning, does not care who gets the glory as long as the program is successful, is humble enough to let his assistants do their jobs, and can manage a successful program. It isn't Pruitt, sure wasn't Lyle, not Dooley, and obviously wasn't Kiffin. Stop putting, "bargain bin coaches" on the sidelines of Neyland. Go get someone that knows what they are doing because they have led winning programs there before and know what it takes to get there. If you do that, I think you will find your fan support (revenue) for UT and its student athletes stronger than ever before.
