That's not true. Some people don't like Freeze, don't want to work with him and don't want him in the program.

And clauses aren't nearly the protection some think they are. There are the issues of proving something and choosing to enforce it, with proof, which most schools elect not to do. Butch Jones is the poster coach for that scenario.

They would get over it when he's winning 10 games and raking in cash for the university

I'm not buying the don't like working for Freeze. How many staffers are enjoying working for Pruitt? How about Butch? Winning cures all and that's what Freeze will bring.

Well this is where other schools win and we don’t. I’m sure someone at Ohio St didn’t like Urban, I’m sure someone at Bama thinks Saban is an ass, I’m sure some at ole miss didn’t want Kiffin. This is why I think the University likes to win but doesn’t prioritize it. What happened to the UT that dgaf they just were about winning championships?

But he’s a winner. He brings an exiting high powered offense. He wants to be here. And UT could get him for cheap. Not hiring him is Fn stupid.

Don’t you get it? The important thing is office culture. You fix that, and the football program will fix itself.

If that is the consensus then Pruitt has to go. Either on Sunday or 12 months from now when we’ve had time to secure a top quality successor.

Internally the outlook on season ticket renewals must be bleak right?

I’m not scared of anything. At some point the football program in Knoxville is going to have to start being professional. At some point they have to do things the right way.

If you can’t secure an actual proven grownup to be your head football coach, then the responsible thing to do is avoid a search that leaves you scrambling and ending up hiring someone you aren’t in love with.

THAT’S what has happened the last two times. The search was mismanaged and became public, the job started looking toxic, and we had to settle for unqualified guys that we ALL had to do mental gymnastics to talk ourselves into believing the hire was a good one.

I’m not scared of the media, but the odds of hiring a good coach diminish rapidly once negative momentum builds in a search.

Some have said that Pruitt was told to move on from JG. If this is true, knowing what we know about his personality, how's he ever gonna have any faith in HB and JT. I'm hoping he wasn't told to move on from JG and the extra practice the past few weeks allowed HB and JT to get better. I can't imagine what next year would look like if HB and JT didn't get any game experience this year.
