Is it getting cold in here or is it just me?

Gundy gonna end up making $20 mil/year by 2025 due to incompetent ADs.
His team has been disappointing this year, had a wide open chance for the B12 with Texas and OU down, did nothing with it. And Iowa State fans have to be even more upset now about that LA Lafayette choke job keeping them out of the playoffs.

Many of you say the 2019 winning streak was an anomaly and they didn’t beat anyone good. What if the 2020 losing streak (in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic with unprecedented restrictions on player activity) was the anomaly?

I know that’s impossible because it won’t for the story that many of you want to come true.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION THIS AS A SOFT REMINDER: AS IT IS COACHING SEARCH SEASON, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE ACCEPT ALL NUGS, ALL RUMORS AND ALL RANDOM SPECULATION THAT TIES PEOPLE TO PLACES, HOUSES, LAKES, PLANES, SPOUSES, SALONS, JOBS, ETC. THANK YOU.
Greetings Mr Hoke 🙃

Gundy and Gus actually remind me a lot as coaches in terms of how to evaluate them. Gus had the higher expectation job, hence his firing, but I've never thought as highly of Gundy as some do.

That's a fantastic point about him doing nothing in the Big 12 this year despite both Oklahoma and Texas being down (he let Iowa St fill that void). He's also just 2-14 against Oklahoma. For him to be getting the praise that he does, it seems like he'd need to do a little better than that. Gus beat his in-state rival more often than that, and Alabama has been better than Oklahoma has.

I must say the Gus situation is giving me Rick Barnes vibes.

We hire a terrible HC in Donnie, he's average and then Barnes is let go despite having results for the program -he- built up and we move Donnie out without having to pay his buyout or anything to hire Barnes.

Now we've hired a terrible HC in Pruitt, he's average and then Gus is let go despite having results for Auburn and now he's sitting there with no buyout or anything to deal with.

He's got a few ex-TN guys on staff that Fulmer has ties to as well in Steele & Garner. Not sure if we try to hire Gus, but interesting of all the names on the list I bet Fulmer knows him best.

I wouldn't call it an anomaly - I would just say the only team worth a damn that he beat in that streak was Indiana. Our schedule has always been front-end loaded. We play Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and sometimes a good non-conference team all in the first half of the season, and take those lumps early.

It was nice to see, because in years past those were games we were losing, but for him to get a raise and extension for that was just ridiculous. You shouldn't get raises and extensions here for beating the dregs of the conference in any given year.

Gundy essentially is Big 12 Malzahn. 66% win rate. Same as Gus. Better bowl record, much worse record vs his rival, but they're basically the same guy. 8-4 coaches.
