Football is for sure the bell cow of P5 sports but list ALL the sports we participate in and define whether they are trending up, holding steady, or trending down. Mens BB, Womens BB, baseball, softball, track and field, soccer, volleyball, Men tennis, womens Tennis.... others if you wish....

He definitely came in at the end of a horrible fire drill.... Even if Pruitt does not work out, he could still have been the best available at that time.... no way to prove that one way or the other. Can anybody name a worse time in sports history to make a change? There could be some conditions that could make it practical, but I cannot think of any.....but he darn well better not hire a one time loser on the morals front and expect the money guys to back him if he goes south again under the level of scrutiny the SEC will be applying to him. Bad risk. Don't know where the market is going to go with clean up and comers. Could be the money situation is going to keep this down since covid hits everybody. Do we want to go that route or hope under better circumstances we can get a top tier experienced coach when the markets open back up? Bet CPF is getting guidance from admin and money guys on this subject.

Or Fulmer could be doing his homework behind the scenes now, lining up a replacement. Fire Pruitt once that’s all lined up and the new coach can hit the ground running in recruiting.

He’s harping on the organizational issues of getting on and off the field and lining up correctly and he couldn’t be more correct

I think DA is the voice heard thru game prep and then Pruitt is the voice on game day. That doesn’t work for the kids hearing a different voice and I’d also venture a guess that Pruitt is a little delayed in his calls because he isn’t prepared as he would be if he was in charge of all the prep work

I just mean firing a coach “for cause” means you’re going to start debating everything publicly AND in a legal setting. You’re better off paying a buyout.

I’d still take Malzahn. I think a competent coach with experience in the SEC and something to prove could do big things here...

The 95 yard TD drive, we opened it up. Swing passes, screens, etc. We didn’t run on first and second down. We marched right down the field and scored. Then second half comes and it’s back to run run pass. I don’t understand. I firmly believe Pruitt told Chaney to slow the game down and help his defense. That’s all he cares about. Then we couldn’t do anything on offense. It gave Pruitt a chance to bench Bailey and then let Shrout come in once Mullen called the dogs off. I don’t think Pruitt wants to be here. He would love to leave and be the DC at Bama again.

Look at the play chart. I have criticized Chaney this year, but it wasn’t run, run, pass in the second half. There was one series where Gray got 10 yards on first down, we ran for about 4-5 again on first, and then Maurer ran on second down. Other than that, we never did run, run, pass. The third and longs were the result of sacks or the intentional grounding.

Assuming Fulmer sacks up and makes the smart move, we should hire the winner of Coastal Carolina vs Louisiana on Dec. 19.

Chadwell would look like an even better hire if he beats Napier twice in one season.

Yeah, I think there's a strong argument to be made that Malzahn is simply Freeze with no scandal and more years of head coaching experience (and thus more losses/down seasons that Freeze inevitably would have experienced).

Honestly at this point I would take Malzhan in a second! I'm fed up with CJP. He's disrespected our program and I can't for the life of me see why he's going to be given another year.

And he got Auburn to a national title game.

If Auburn wants to fire him this year, I’d drive down to Alabama to pick him up.

JT Shrout looked like Tyler Bray out there tonight. I’d like to see a lot more of him.

Harrison Bailey looked pretty good, but also looked like a freshman.

I’d like to see a lot more of both.

Shrout is the only one of the three with swag.

JG was tough in terms of taking hits, but never had swag.

Bailey is young and has talent but doesn't have the swag yet. Still a little wide-eyed out there on the field, but should change with time.

Just watch the look on the face of Trask, Trevor Lawrence, and some others - always confident, sure, unshaken. We don't have a QB with that look, except for maybe Shrout.
