Sometimes the coaches feel like mercenaries - here for the big check - doesnt really matter if successful. I think someone that UT means something to might try a little harder - Chadwell might be that.

Pruitt was the high risk/high reward football savant in waiting. The only question was who would have moxie to pull the trigger. Once he kicked the white board the management issues couldn't be avoided.

Also I feel you on UF. Besides Mullen scheming Trask wide open passes they are very average. TBH I think they take another step backwards next year. They will be ripe for an early signature win for a new HC, which should help with recruiting the 22 class.

IF Pruitt is let go, I don't know 100% who would or wouldn't succeed. Neither does anyone else on here despite all the talk.Chadwell would not be my first call but he would at least be given a fair hearing. I believe the "names" on here we've all tossed around could win, but no sure thing. I just hope the people who want their pick or nothing will give a new hire a chance. In a perfect world my choice would be Freeze with Mason as DC but there are other options.

There was some validity to Butch living off the previous success if Brian Kelly at CMU and Cincy. Chadwell is the only FBS coach Coastal has had. Napier built UL on his own.
