Doug Matthews makes me sick

IF pruitt doesn’t have success he has only himself to blame, but anyone that thinks he won’t be here next year is wasting their time talking about it. The AD has enough money for staff changes.
Several assistant coaches are not developing players. That’s a under statement.
He thinks we have 2 QB’s that can play, Strout and Bailey. I tend to agree. Yes, Strout played against a base defense, but I also saw the team pick up their level of play when he was in the game.
Matthews also said that Pruitt had to decide that if he was going to be a head coach or a game day coach. Trying to do to much as a DC and DL coach.
I 100% agree with the last sentence. Pruitt still acts like a coordinator

[whispers] Vols have potential to be really good next year under Pruitt. Team is tough. Fights. Talented. Screws a lot of stuff up.
I think they’ll fix it. Next year, we’ll be saying “wow, Pruitt has really turned things around on Rocky Top”

Change my mind.
-120 point differential total for Pruitt to this point.

So...@Kingston Vol. Does the tidbit you heard and dangled in front of everyone last night have anything to do with an investigation of some sort and that possibly being used to negotiate Pruitts buyout down?

Or does whatever this issue is give leverage to Pruitt against the university?

Pathetic that it has come to this. Absolutely zero precedent of a guy "having to decide" what type of head coach he wants to be heading into year 4 with a losing record at an SEC program and working out long term.

The can is really far down the road but it has further to go still, apparently.

I doubt it. No need to bring that kind of scrutiny on yourself.

If it’s going to happen, I want it to be so clean of a transition that CJP walks in his office and the new head coach is already sitting there watching film and calling recruits. I’m talking office decorated, fridge stocked, feet on the desk.

I know some of y’all rednecks enjoy the search season, but I loathe it. I want it over before it starts.

Coastal would smoke us and beat a team with a Heisman QB. Yet some are saying no and we just suffered our sixth double digit loss. The dude would love the UT job and coach with pride. I don’t care if he never won a NC. I want 8-10 a year. I’m tired of worrying about bowl games.

If we have an opening for head coach, not everyone is gonna be please with whoever the hire would be. If somehow all the stars aligned and we hired Freeze, some people would be pissed. That's probably one of the main reasons administrative people don't let their emotions dictate hires. Tennessee is definitely putting a sub par product on the field and, at some point, the powers that be will make a decision regarding Pruitt. The next hire will just start the clock again.

What's maddening is that I actually think Fulmer's strategy of hiring a top coordinator and helping him become a successful head coach could have worked with a lot of guys. But he had to hire the most stubborn coordinator in CFB history, apparently.

Pruitt is ED O at ole miss. Ed O learned to get the F away from the coordinators and let them do their jobs. It’s possible this year does this for Pruitt

That’s our only hope and one we need to grab a hold of the next 9months
