They took him out for almost the entire second quarter. The announcers were even questioning why he was out so much.
Im going through that game now, I noticed that kinda weird. Im also impressed at how Mullen has moved him around, he flexes him out wide as much as he lines up either as an H back or on the LOS.

It’s frustrating yet cathartic to watch other teams in college football. Even some of the coaches that aren’t winning show way more creativity than we do

I know more than likely we just change our assistants. No scenario will get me excited though.
We can keep talking about Cutcliffe and maybe Randy Sanders or we can talk about what more than likely is really going to happen. Unless..... We’re really ready to take it all a step further....

Coaches contracts are so insane. You can utterly fail at your job and that's not considered "cause" for firing. Nope, they pay you millions to leave. So stupid. Someone needs to grow the balls to demand a performance clause be included after x number of years. One person starts it, and others will follow.
It’s absurd that this isn’t the case. Every contract should have a sliding performance pay scale

I figured that would be your response so let's look at FL and GA a second.
FL is very average on defense right now. They lose Trask, Jones is nowhere near the passer he is and I don't believe Richardson is either. Their O line is also very soft and they dont have much of a run game. They will take a step back a little on O next year. GA has major QB issues and discipline problems within their program. If JT Daniels isn't the answer they are in trouble. Bama is Bama and I'm not worried about beating them yet. But the other two will come back to the pack a little next year

Pruitt will never beat the big 3. Florida and Tennessee started at the same spot and we haven’t even competed with Mullen and soon our talent is going to decline. UGA and Bama are light years ahead from a talent standpoint and recruiting is only going to get worse. I hate to be a wet blanket, but there is only one way out of this circle of football hell.

I think that we have significant young talent on this team. If, if, we can develop them and have a QB not killing us next year like we’ve had under JG, that scenario is possible

I appreciate the optimism. This is year 3, does anyone besides EG look like they have improved? Maybe you can blame COVID, but I think that is wishful thinking. I would expect with all the bye weeks our team would look better prepared.

Realistically other than Bo Davis who are we looking for to replace some of our dead weight assistants? We replace CW or use that spot for an extra D coach?
I'm not confident Pruitt is going to get it right with whoever he hires. Ansley has been bad, Brumbaugh made it like 4 games, Friend has been terrible as Weinke.

At some point he has to right? I mean it was almost unanimous on this board that Ansley was going to be awesome. He hasn’t been and I don’t who’s fault that is.

We should have won anyway, but GSU was odd. We were missing Bituli and Bryce Thompson and our entire front seven (except Taylor) was new along with playing a true freshman Burrell. You then have JG at QB, and he made his typical bad decisions.

I don’t know that JP is the long term answer, but I would like to see someone else at QB full time to see how it would work. As Butch would say, I’d like to see complimentary football.

Chandler and Gray combined had 13 carries for 77 yards, which is almost 6 yards per carry. We were 8-13 on third down. We gave up 4 sacks and had 3 turnovers (2 on JG).

Again, the stats minus turnovers would point toward a win. I am not excusing a loss to GSU, but we just need a new QB to see.

Tennessee should beat GA state by 50 with any QB. That loss was unbelievable.

Personally, I want Bo Davis, Tosh Lupoi, and a new OL coach. Give Tee the QBs and he and Chaney can work on them together. Move Osovet to WRs, and Nieds back to TE(probably plus a title) which is where a "coach" who is really mostly recruiter should be. Davis coaches the DL, and Lupoi mentors Felton on how to coach LBs. Ansley and Pruitt can concentrate on fixing the secondary. Not sure who to get for the OL, but need someone with a good track record of development. Of course, none of this will probably happen, so to answer your question of "realistically", who the hell knows? It'll probably be hard to attract who we really need because of how hot CJP's seat will be next year.

Off the top of my head, I'm going Catbone. His negativity has drug us all down.
