Our entire team has looked like **** this year. Sure, we can start with the QB situation, but we're just pretending if we say that's the only problem.

The defense is fixable but the offense isn’t in my opinion not with this QB and Oac situation.it’s obvious Pruitt is going to ride JG to the end of his coaching career 😅

He isn’t right lol. Graham has made our RBs actually look good. Pruitt isn’t getting rid of him 😂

I’m out on Tee though his receivers have looked like poo. Although maybe that’s just because he needs his young guys in and JG not to be the QB, so maybe I’m just overreacting.
The WR room is stacked with young talent. Speed and athleticism all over the place. That group is ready to take off with half ass competent QB play.

Meanwhile, Weinke/Helton and Pruitt have brought in two duds in Shrout and Maurer, and apparently prefer watching JG’s A Series of Unfortunate Events over Bailey’s A New Hope.

Everyone up there knows Chaney should be coaching the quarterbacks. Supposedly, Wienke was going to leave if he wasn’t coaching quarterbacks. Without Weinke, possibly no Bailey and no Salter.

AP said on The Nation that UT will be without starters on both sides of the ball due to contact tracing. He did not state a number on how many players.

Seriously, I know he’s probably an NFL head coach and will set his sights there, but Jerod Mayo is EXACTLY what this program needs.
We don't need another learn-on-the-job head coach. Jerod Mayo may be the next great head coach but he's never been a head coach on any level. TN shouldn't be the proving grounds for up and coming head coaches.

THIS!☝🏻

We need a proven, offensive minded coach.
Just because he’s a VFL and he’s black doesn’t mean it’s just what the doctor ordered. Heck, KV would probably put all his chips on Inky if it came down to it.

Mayo for a defensive assistant, maybe even DC, I’d welcome that in a heartbeat. But absolutely not our next HC. He needs to prove himself before running this circus.

My point is if Graham looks at going to USCe if Beamer is hired, Pruitt probably won't care because he has no loyalty to him, the fact Jay didn't take a raise made Pruitt's other coaches look bad, and there's nothing Pruitt has done this season that makes me believe he would make the right decision.
The fact that Graham took a PAYCUT shows a loyalty to the program. Furthest from a flight risk imo. Also not buying this narrative that doing so has miffed Pruitt. Our HC has made a number of faulty moves this season. Inventing reasons for grudges seems excessive even for him. Fulmer values Graham and if he had been AD during his first go round, they may have been able to retain him...at least for a short while. Plus he’s one of Pruitt’s recruiting successes...not easily dismissed.

More than anything, I am supremely interested in whether or not you all are correct and I am mistaken about what level of coaches are going to be on the board if we make a change this year.

There’s a chance I’m totally missing the boat.

If we’re holding on to a bad coach Bc of a couple recruits, then everyone running this program should be shown the door

We don’t need an offensive minded coach, we need a leader. There’s about 50+ innovative offensive coaches on staffs scattered around the country who you can bring in and scheme up offense.
We need a head coach who can run & control the entire program, create and cultivate relationships and hold players and coaches accountable.
we haven’t had one that can do all three in over 20 years.

Oh, I agree the bar will be low, but my first criteria if I were the AD would be any coach to be considered must have head coaching experience at a CFP level school. Doesn't have to be P5.

Agree. Perhaps giving pointers from time to time. Else, correct.

Who scares you most at Vandy?
According to ESPN:

"Among the candidates who might be targeted by Vanderbilt are former Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher, Buffalo's Lance Leipold, Notre Dame defensive coordinator Clark Lea (a former Vanderbilt fullback), Princeton's Bob Surace, Nevada's Jay Norvell, Indiana's Tom Allen, Tulane's Willie Fritz, Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott, Louisiana Tech's Skip Holtz, Charlotte's Will Healy, Coastal Carolina's Jamey Chadwell, Army's Jeff Monken, Navy's Ken Niumatalolo and North Dakota State's Matt Entz."
Leipold and Healy

Above would be 1a for what we need, totally agree. Agree to disagree on the not needing an offensive minded coach. We have one of the highest regarded active OCs and yet our defensive, smash mouth micromanaging HC has hamstrung our offense. We could bring in Briles, Lebby or some other innovative OC and CJP would still tie his hands behind his back in terms of the playbook.

No college coaching experience.

Hire him as DC and then we can have a reasonable conversation about him being a head coach here
