My God did Pruitt actually wear that suit and tie? If so why didn't anyone bring this to our attention earlier? Proof positive, he's not qualified to dress himself much less run this football team.

Oh wow! I know him. It’s my brother-in-law! He’s coached a ton of basketball, a little soccer, and golf, but not much football. Good news is I will have all of the inside info from now on. You can check my stats.

What is the vague “support” that CJP isn’t getting? From the outside looking in, I don’t have a clue what that might be, but AV liked your post.

Exactly. The fact he liked my post tells me I’m close with what’s happening behind the scenes. He said not all of the big boosters are rowing in the same direction to support the program. They are not helping with their funds, which helps do certain things, which helps make our program better, if you catch my drift (think about what forum you are in). Basically the power faction that used to be in charge was overthrown last cycle with Fulmer taking over as AD and hiring Pruitt. They are sulking because of it, and aren’t donating much to the football program anymore, which effects what we are able to do. They are waiting to make a big power play and get back in charge, because power is much more important to them than their alma mater reasserting itself on the college football landscape.

The fact that Pruitt had 2 weeks to get him ready and still didn't work with him any extra is mind blowing. Obviously JG is your best chance to win when that's the only QB that gets reps.

Its gotta be. Coaches cant get along enough to talk to the players at half, or guys just down want to listen because they don't trust/respect the coaches. Something is going on that is for sure.

People forget that we wouldn’t be paying Pruitt the full buyout.

He won’t just sit on a buyout. He’ll go be Alabama’s defensive coordinator again, likely making about 1 mil per year, which would cut into it. The only reason we’re still paying Lyle is because he never took another paid coaching position. Pruitt isn’t gonna do that.. he’ll run back to Saban. Unfortunately, that’ll mean Alabama will have historically elite defenses again like they did in 2016. And he may try and take recruits with him. Which is why I think if you’re gonna do it, you DO NOT just clean house entirely. Keep some of those guys, because there genuinely good position coaches and recruiters.

First, I skimmed Pruitt’s contract and didn’t see a mitigation clause. If that’s the case, then he gets his entire buyout, and a new job wouldn’t offset it.

Second, you can’t hamstring a new coach with retaining staff. Have to have a clean slate and let him bring hire who he wants.
