Chip Kelly might be available soon... actually he'll be around for at least another season. UCLA is still paying off other coaches' buyouts. The great "uber" coach is 7-18 so far in case anyone is interested... good bet he won't make it to 9 wins this year.

Once UT has played their last game of the season, Pruitt should be fired and Freeze should be on a plane to Knoxville to be announced as the new coach. I’m done with Pruitt. He’s not the guy. He’s too much of a totalitarian to be a successful HC. It’s his way or the highway and that has never been a good recipe for success anywhere.

works for Savanna and it worked for Johnny Majors

The Freeze thing has me conflicted..... I do believe that ultimately it comes down to second chances and if we think the guy has really changed. In an age of "rehab" as a PR solution the only person who knows what to beleive. If he is truly holding to his Christian values and atoned for his transgressions with his family it isn't our place to judge. If he just put some window dressing on it and has kept his nose clean but will regress it will devastate this program worse than Kiffen.

He's a great coach and will likely have success wherever he goes. I don't think we want to take the risk associated with the hire but wouldn't protest it either....

Bottom line everyone deserves a second chance if they truly want to do the right thing....

A huge totalitarian ego isn’t an admirable quality in a first time head coach that has no clue what he’s doing. Nick Saban, U Meyer, Steve Spurrier, Johnny Majors at Pitt, and many others have already or did earn the right (when they were coaching) to coach how they saw fit once they became successful.

When I served this great nation many moons ago the most irritating folks in a uniform were butter bar lieutenants that thought they knew everything but didn’t know anything. They couldn’t pull their heads out of their butts long enough to learn anything. Same with Pruitt. Sure he knows about being a DC but it’s apparent he’s in way over his head as a HC and too arrogant to listen and learn.

At the beginning of the season and after a couple losses I thought no way Pruitt gets fired this year. However, if this keeps up, I don't see us holding on to him. There is no excuse to lose this badly to Kentucky and Arkansas and I don't see us beating a single team down the stretch except Vandy... and I'm not even sure about Vandy. IF we go 2-10 or how we end the season with 3-10, Pruitt is on the hot seat. That seat is currently heating up and how we play this next game will decide what that temperature swing will be come this time next week.

They should definitely try. Problem is, they would have to move real fast.. I'd like to see it, but it won't happen.
No one can even formally ask Liberty for permission until the last game. I know agent stuff happens.

I think the feeling by many is that this is a tough job. Now, let's be honest. If the last couple of coaches had recruited this state better this program would be in a much better place. Too many instate kids going else where and having success.

So do I think it's as hard as some people around the country think? No I don't.

But my point was to everyone who says back up the truck and pay for a proven winner. My question is who is that guy.

When Butch was hired they interviewed Gundy, Strong and Butch. There was one other mystery guy who I'm told was a proven guy but things never got real with him. I don't know who that is, but I will say Dave Hart told me that I missed one guy he interviewed.

Currie tried with Mullen, who was always going to pick Florida. Chip Kelly didn't want in the SEC. He talked to Schiano, Gundy, Chad Morris, Dave Dorian and Mike Leach. Fulmer made many calls and landed with a trio of finalists Pruitt, Steele, Tucker.

So I don't know how many "proven" winners would be interested in the job. I think Hugh Freeze would be and he has won in the league.

Do you really want all that baggage that comes with Freeze? If he came to UT the NCAA would move their HQ to Knoxville.
Bro I just want to dump my baggage of supporting this inept circus for over a decade since I graduated. I will let the devil himself coach this team if we win. News flash, we have NOTHING to lose. Every possible record of terrible things has been broken.

I was thinking along the lines of "back channel" stuff to position themselves at the front of the line, so to speak. Alas, it's a pipe dream and won't happen for many reasons..

Nah, we’re good. Y’all can keep ole Chip.

Fulmer is to stupid and to stubborn to take advantage of the opportunity in front of him! We will watch uscjr or Auburn kick our ass for years to come with him!

I get the narrative that this is a tough job, and even agree with it. But it's not as tough as it's made out to be. Look at the talent we have on offense right now and where they could be over the next couple of years. Bring in a solid offensive mind with Harrison Bailey, Kaidon Salter, Eric Gray, Jalin Hyatt, Jimmy Calloway, Malachi Wideman, Jimmy Holiday, etc. and you have what looks like on paper a potentially dangerous offense. This program still can recruit anywhere from the 5-15 range any given year.

I do agree this is a tough job when you have to play Alabama, Florida, and Georgia every year. My only point is that this program can still recruit elite talent at the skill positions and one of the biggest things holding us back right now is an unwillingness to evolve into a modern day offense where these skill guys can thrive.

And I won’t stop until he’s a Vol. If Fulmer is too high and mighty to hire him, kick him out of the AD. Make it happen. #HughToTheHill
Most assuredly I can say that CPF would never allow such a malevolent malefactor to ever darken the proud home sidelines of Neyland. For all his coaching acumen, Freeze is no "molder of men", unlike the ballyhooed and much esteemed CPF. I say again, we must restore CPF to his rightful throne on ole Rocky Top, for only then will we be able to reach the halcyon heights of yesteryear.

There should be a U-haul being loaded at halftime by the players and his shst cleared out.
After all we all know they don’t do anything game related at halftime, like make adjustments

I can guarantee you we will not go 2-10 or even 3-10.
