We are in a better position than some. But, gauranteed no moves will be made until next year, theyll replace all offensive coaches before JP is gone.
Lol what they’re about to spend buying out assistants could be spent on the “ball coach’s” buyout. If this dude goes 3-7 and is not terminated, then Tennessee will finally prove they don’t give a **** about ever winning again. You have the perfect opportunity to make a move, yet we will piss it away in typical Tennessee fashion. The dude sucks. And no one worth a damn is coming here to work for him.Pruitt isn’t going anywhere. Zero chance he gets fired this year...
I do expect some other staff changes however....
Any rational fan knows when it is the beginning of the end for a coach. $12 million is a drop in the bucket for the loss in ticket sales, season tickets, and donations going into 2021. Everyone will have losses this year and yet many are still talking about firing coaches. Neyland stadium with 75,000 instead of 102,000 would make up his buyout. Plus he will get a DC job the next day to offset a lot of the cost. We essentially would owe him 2.5 million a year. If he gets another DC job, then we probably only pay him $2 million to $1.5 million a year. This is nothing. New SEC tv money alone will be around $50 million next year before ticket sales, season tickets, and donations.I wish the same 10 posters on here would quit saying the same thing over and over.
Any rational fan knows that Pruitt is our coach at least through 2021 no matter what.
Like it or not that’s just the way it is.
If it’s Bama, why would they pay him market value? They’ve been practicing.Unlike Butch, Pruitt would take a real job. He is too good of a DC. The buyout wouldn’t be nearly as bad as it looks on paper because a DC of his caliber is going to still get paid quite a bit. We’d only have to pay the difference.
Well, it had better be the whole offensive staff minus Tee, Ansley, and Felton. Move Neids back to TEs, and get a whole new defensive staff. We will see if Pruitt really wants to succeed, and if he can succeed, based on his hirings. If he can’t get anything but bottom of the barrel coaches, because no good assistant coaches are willing to come for only a year if he fails, them the writing will be on the wall with a big black sharpie, and it would make more sense to get rid of Pruitt too. I hope he plans on taking back over full control of the defense because it was a lot better when he was making the calls.
Let Ansley leave. Only coach who should be safe is Tee and Graham. Everyone else can go. Love Neids for recruiting but he should not be an on field coach. Unless he moves back to TE. But we have had a massive coaching carousel since Pruitt got here and the coaching is getting worse. One common denominator. We need to move on before we become even more obsolete. SC will Fire Muschamp and go for Freeze. Freeze would much prefer us or Auburn. Question is do we do the smart thing or continue to oblivion?
I'm just saying anyone that believes money is the issue is just plain gullible. It's greed and stubbornness. That's all there is to it. No they won't make any moves this year, and that's the problem. It's a movie on repeat. They don't take action when it's obvious, they always give another year praying for a miracle and when it obviously doesn't work, they have no choice and have fallen even further behind and have become less attractive to coaches. Hugh Freeze would literally crawl here from Liberty University to be the HC, but there won't even be as much as a phone call. Absolutely absurdity.
It’s over. Coaches get one big sweep of a staff to show it was them and not him. Well we have regressed and that is an indictment on Pruitt. We replace many assistants again and it will be the same result. Stop delaying the inevitable and move on before another terrible year next year.Just my opinion.Pruitt needs to stick with what he knows and that’s defense (maybe) if we get rid of ansley which I doubt it then he needs to go hire someone who is a Notorious defensive mind!..I get it Pruitt was on “2 A days” on MTV as the DC coach in high school but college is completely different.I think he might be over his Head at what he’s even good at to be honest.A will mushchump or barry Odom like hire on the defensive side.
jim chaney I think is fine in my opinion.I seriously think Pruitt is just in his way but if he’s not, hire someone who’s in a modern day offense that’s being used who can adjust to the talent he has like a Briles or Kiffin.they are akways adapting the O and really good at keeping the defense guessing.
I don't think @Bassmaster_Vol is wrong though. AP has been acting like Simpson is ours to lose but if we lost to Arkansas then he was likely going elsewhere (Clemson).Oh no. Bass he joined the negavols
