Pruitt isn’t going anywhere. Zero chance he gets fired this year...
I do expect some other staff changes however....

Is Pruitt making bad personnel decisions? Is he hiring guys that just don’t jive with the rest of the staff? Is he even interviewing these guys? It just boggles the mind how this staff can’t put a decent product on the field.

Tennessee is his dream job? Expand on that please..
Chris Low is very close with Hugh. He has told Low several times it’s his dream job.

I mentioned this earlier. Just saying. Besides, if Kiffin is now at OM it only makes sense that we get their old coach. Our snake for their snake.

Who would you go after for OC next year? I mean it’s a given that Pruitt will have to clean house on that side of the ball.

Some that uses more spread concepts. There’s so many good offenses out there that are very QB friendly. I’m tired of seeing 15 years digs and far sided outs. I want some quick easy throws and let our athletes make someone miss.

Hugh Freeze would save Fulmer job. Freeze would instantly put UT on the map.

Yeah, I don't get the Fulmer talk. Fulmer wants to leave a legacy. Hiring Freeze would do that as long as it was secured with moral clauses and various garauntees about compliance. He doesn't want his legacy to be that of the guy who held us back. People have bought into too much conspiracy hoo-ha regarding Phil.

It’s likely we will find out one way or another this year. I’m on the side that thinks the only person more stubborn than Fulmer is Pruitt. He’s going to give Pruitt another year. When the most surefire opportunity for an elite coach since Alabama nabbed Saban is staring him right in the face. Fulmer will bet on his own evaluation of Pruitt, and we will watch Freeze go to Auburn and dominate.

Offensive side of the ball, Graham and Osovet should be safe, and Tee probably will be. Friend and Weinke should definitely go, and hopefully we replace Chaney with someone more creative.

Defensively, we just need better coaching all around. I'd love to bring in Bo Davis and Tosh Lupoi to coach the DL and the OLBs. Probably try to find room somewhere for Nieds, but he shouldn't be coaching ILBs. We need someone with real experience there. If Ansley stays, he shouldn't be calling the defense, he should just coach DBs, but I'm okay with him going and replacing him with someone else that can coach DBs.

If we're not going to replace Pruitt, and I don't think we do, we have to figure this staff out. And it's not about whether Pruitt should be replaced, what we're seeing on the field says he should, but Fulmer and the university will not do it this year. History has me convinced they won't, and insiders saying the same just supports that. We've seen that the university just doesn't care.

Pruitt put together a staff based on their ability to recruit, not their ability to teach. We have to find guys that can do both.

It's not Chaney. He was a good coordinator here under BOTH Kiffin and Dooley but Kiffin and Dooley believed in offense. Pruitt has a philosophical problem, imo. He wants to play 1980s big 10 ball and that's what we're doing.
My big worry with Chaney is if the game is passing him by? Our offense isn't creative at all.

Coaches contracts should have performance clauses. Not for year 1 or 2 when the rebuild talk is legit, but if you're still struggling in year 3 with no sign of improving, that should be cause to be fired without a payout. You're paid to win, and if you're failing at that, you're failing at the job. If you can't do the job, that's cause for firing. It pisses me off that these guys can fail miserably and still get paid.

Pruitt's staff for 2021:
OC/TE: Chip Long
OL: Jim Chaney
RB: Jay Graham
WR: Tee Martin
QB: Joe Osovet

DC: Lance Thompson
DB: Derrick Ansley
DT: Bo Davis
ILB/Recruiting Coordinator: Tosh Lupoi
OLB: Brian Neidermeyer

Just a thought if we aren't gonna go for the gold and hire Freeze.

And the results will be the same becuase the HC is the same. You can only get a team back so many times after you lose them.

Exactly. Just entertaining what would be a good case scenario for a staff of a sinking ship. Captain Freeze needs to take control of this listless vessel.

You and the other boosters need to start the movement to get this idiot out of here. Getting new coordinators is a waste of time. How have y’all not learned that by now? Didn’t work for Dooley. Didn’t work for butch. And it sure isn’t going to work for this clown.

Go get freeze PLEASE

It's especially a waste of time in this case. We've seen Chaney under 3 different head coaches at UT alone. You don't even have to look at what he did elsewhere. The problem is Pruitt. He doesn't give a damn about a modern offense or competent special teams and it shows.

I blame every bit of that on the Gump who keeps wanting to run the football like it's 1980. We didn't do that under 2 other HCs. This is the same bs problem that Kirby has. It's the same problem Muschamp has and that Odom at Mizzou had. These are all DCs who want slow boring offenses to help their defenses. Then they wind up with a slight lead that evaporates in the second half because the other team knows how to actually score. They all think their Ds will be the Chicago Bears as long as they practice ball control on offense and forget to kick field goals when you're down by 11. This is 100 percent Pruitt. That's why he needs to go now. He doesn't need new coordinators. He needs a complete readjustment in how he approaches the game.

We actually did do a few creative things against South Carolina and it was obvious that Chaney dialed up a few of them with the goal of locating playmakers. Know what Pruitt said? "Need to run the footbaw more." He wasn't entirely wrong about that specific game but 1. you do need to find your playmakers in the first game and 2. after he said that we went completely vanilla.

Not sure about Lance Thompson as DC, and you don't have Chaney coaching the OL getting paid $1.5 million.

Probably, but we know Pruitt isn't going anywhere this year. Too many reasons that a cheap university can use to justify another year. So might as well shake up the staff and pray. And if we add some actual coaches that can teach their positions, maybe we get better results.

It’s obvious Pruitt has his hands on the offense. It looks almost identical to the offense year 1 under Helton. Run run pass and our best pass plays are 50-50 go routes. We ran one creatively play last night when we brought Velus in motion into the backfield then handed it off to him on an outside zone. His speed was great on that play. Let’s not do that again!

Just saw where Savion Williams has entered the transfer portal. Had that been talked about previously? Maybe I missed it.

This will be Pruitts third new staff in three years and we’re supposed to believe that’s going to fix things? Common denominator..... I like the guy but he’s doing himself no favors with the fan base. You don’t get to coach like you don’t give a crap. Our team looks like a bunch of lethargic babies who don’t care. Our coaching staff has 0 intensity. This isn’t acceptable @Atlanta VOL every team dealt with covid I don’t want hear that bs from Pruitt anymore. He’s not above criticism. Sam Pittman coaches circles around him in year 1. Phil’s given Pruitt the money. The football program and AD better get their act together or you’ll have the same amount of fans in the stands next year as you do this year with no covid. Ridiculous.
I don't think Pruitt cares what we think. He thinks he knows best and is going to die on that hill.

I think it was brought up...but the kid did nothing at all while he was here. I saw his post on Twitter announcing his transfer...he starts out by thanking UT and then says he's gonna go some place where he can actually show his true talents. Lol.
