They are starting JG after the bye... (this week's depth chart)

Is it out of the realm of possibility that Pruitt is unhappy here, or has the good sense to know he is in over his head, and is just angling for the lucrative buyout, and an excuse to go back to being a DC? If so, just say so Jeremy.

I'd like to think so, since I'm a "glass-half-full" kinda guy. Nobody should go through life being obtuse enough to believe JG should still be taking snaps.
I've actually wondered that myself.

I think it's dawning on him that he's in over his head and not HC material. If it isn't he's dumber than I thought.

Pruitt’s pride is getting in the way of actually winning.

Instead of admitting he’s wrong, he’d rather stick with the problem until it magically fixes itself.

And you would know this how? Because of all the playing time the others have gotten and showed they couldn't do better? You would keep starting a QB in his 5th year on campus that has proven he is not starting material? You do not rebuild programs for the future by doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Building for the future and starting a 5th year QB who has a losing record is an oxymoron in itself. It makes literally no sense. Losing with QB's who are going to be in the program 3-4 more years makes a hell of a lot more sense than losing with one who is in his 5th year and gives you less than a 50% chance of winning before you even step on the field.
I'm not making any excuse for it . Apparently the other ones can't walk and chew gum at the same time. There is a guy making 4 million dollars that keeps repeating this statement. Maybe JG does have some pictures of him and a goat. He is from Bama after all.

Pruitt can’t see his decision at QB has taken his team from a contender that could have beat UGA In Athens to a team that got blown out by Kentucky in Knoxville.

This is on Pruitt. And Pruitt alone. Starting Guarantano was probably the worst decision I’ve ever seen a coach make. I think Pruitt has to go now after seeing this.
Emotional post is emotional. Or Over dramatic. The worst decision you’ve ever seen a coach make? Were you here during the Dooley years? Tbh JG is a big reason we went into the half up 21-17 on Georgia. Hindsight is 20/20 but we had no way of knowing at that point the offense was going to have such a terrible second half led by JG. JG also was serviceable against Alabama and won the South Carolina and Mizzou games. The second half against Georgia and the Kentucky game we’re beyond horrendous performances by JG. And I’m on the train of starting Maurer or Bailey. But let’s not get too dramatic.

Why does it make them NegaVols when THEY are tired of losing and you’re just fine with it? 🤔. Kinda makes a man wonder who the “NegaVol” actually is.
Let me preface this by saying the childish labels we put on each other because we disagree is .......... childish.

Nothing wrong with having a negative opinion of Pruitt and what we're seeing on Saturday. That's not what get one labeled a negavol or whatever. It's the never ending, on and on repetition of their OPINION...

Also it's just as stupid to say anyone that doesn't want Pruitt fired and is willing to to let things play out, enjoys losing...

This game could be the door slammer on Pruitt's career at UT...Sad part s if we did fire him he would go back to Alabama and take over at DC at a cheaper rate so he could cash those big checks from UT.

Does anyone really know for sure they're not?

Speculation Nation.....

No idea. Depth chart is old, and Pruitt's shown a tendency at times to announce late.

Just for me, it's hard to believe that they're not.

Yes I think most every position has gotten better except QB. The only other position that hasn't is TE.

Smart is the big reason we were up 21-17, going for it on 4th down and our D making stops gave our O great field position short fields first half. Our O really didn't have big half yardage wise, no long sustained drives, it was bad coaching by Smart, JG/Palmer had 2 good connections on throws from just outside the red zone. Smart went in and made adjustments they sent 5 almost every down on D and it worked, we didn't adjust and were stunned actually. Then flabbergasted the next week vs UK.

And the truth is I’m not against Pruitt. I still think Pruitt can be a great HC IF he can lower his pride. If not he’ll get himself fired.

But overall my comment to him that you’re referring to wasn’t about Pruitt at all. It was about JG. This guy has a habit of taking personal shots at Maurer while defending JG. Sounds a lot like Pruitt doesn’t it? So, at this point, I think it’s fair that people are beginning to see what I’ve been saying for 2 years now. Pruitt is becoming transparent and people are starting to take notice.

I wasn't meaning to pick on you at all. I was referring to fans in general, not people driven by agenda or trolls.

Of course. "He gives us the best chance to win."
I really don't care any more. It's almost to the point that I'd rather lose with a different QB than win with Guarantano. That's just sad to say but that is how disgusted I have become with this coach/qb combo.
Almost means you don’t.

It doesn’t matter who the QB is for a win, but for a loss, there will be cain raised.

Wrong. Pruitt could lose every game the rest of the way this season and he won't get fired. The financial reality is, Tennessee cannot afford to fire him. Y'all are gonna have to learn to deal with that and hope Pruitt succeeds.

Football pays the bills at UT...When the team isn't preforming up to the standards these big money donors are satisfied with they stop spending that money...UT can't afford NOT to fire him if that is the case and yes they can afford to fire him...Anybody who thinks UT is broke is clueless...They make a ton of money off many different avenues...Sales of anything orange and white..100000 people in that stadium at $80.00 a head..Add that up!...Not this season obviously but even if he survives and makes it to next year he is just a dead man walking.

I think anyone that is a fan for any reason just wants what’s best for the team and I think every week that goes by the words “He’s our best chance to win” is starting to fall on deaf ears. Doesn’t make them NegaVols. I know for a fact that JG isn’t the best qb on the roster and Pruitt is keeping the others off the field just enough that he’s able to get away with the false narrative because he can say “I told you so” when they make mistakes any qb lacking experience would make.

Lol. So if JG was better no team would throw slants, throw to the middle of the field? If he was better we would generate a great pass rush and instantly become elite tacklers???

This response you made is a clown show.

Thanks! I agree it was good!
