They are starting JG after the bye... (this week's depth chart)

It's probably because Pruitt doesn't want to win and, even though he knows he has other QBs who are better, he's starting JG anyway. Pruitt is trying to sabotage Tennessee's program. Or he's just really dumb.

Gettin Even for never beating UT when he rode the bench at bama??

Never thought I would be this apathetic about Tennessee football, yet here we are. I have nothing personal against JG, but at this point watching him start again is like trying to get pumped up for a root canal.
Agreed. And I have to have a root canal tomorrow. What a week.

Im fully expecting JG to return and be our starter again next year at this point.

AND, JG might get TWO years forgiven, making him THE ALL TIME record holder with 6 years as UT's starting QB. We certainly wouldn't want to insert another guy with JG Practicing so well.

Maybe. We shall see. I guess it’s JGs fault that we can’t defend slants, can’t tackle really well, can’t defend the middle of the field or generate a pass rush.

Just blame JG for everything 🙄🙄
The defense is wore out. Offense isn’t moving the chains effectively. So, in essence, yes, Guarantano is mostly to blame.

If JG could keep the offense on the field then no need to worry about defending the slants!

If that’s the case (and it appears to be), then Pruitt & Co. have completely failed to recruit and develop a suitable replacement.

I hope you and I are wrong, but it sure looks like Pruitt failed to get a QB and it’s year 3

Yes I think most every position has gotten better except QB. The only other position that hasn't is TE.

I think Pruitt knows a good team when he sees it and if given the chance he’ll make it happen. It might take some trial and error on staff (which takes time) and some recruiting. There’s not really much choice anyway.

Of course. "He gives us the best chance to win."
I really don't care any more. It's almost to the point that I'd rather lose with a different QB than win with Guarantano. That's just sad to say but that is how disgusted I have become with this coach/qb combo.
He gives us the best chance to lose, Games that we should win.

Lol. So if JG was better no team would throw slants, throw to the middle of the field? If he was better we would generate a great pass rush and instantly become elite tacklers???

This response you made is a clown show.

Is it out of the realm of possibility that Pruitt is unhappy here, or has the good sense to know he is in over his head, and is just angling for the lucrative buyout, and an excuse to go back to being a DC? If so, just say so Jeremy.

I'd like to think so, since I'm a "glass-half-full" kinda guy. Nobody should go through life being obtuse enough to believe JG should still be taking snaps.

I don't think the problem is at quarterback, defensive back, offensive line, or anywhere else on the field; I think it's in the locker room. There is something not quite right with this team, again this year. Two years ago, the team progressed nicely until they had a chance to do something good, then fell apart. That continued until midway through last year when they again started playing well. This year started out well, including very well in the first half of the UGA game. The sudden and complete collapse at that point says that something may have happened (the blowup with Brumbaugh?) to ruin the team attitude. They just don't look like a team any more; they lack cohesiveness and the commonality of purpose that you see in successful teams. Just my opinion.
Then you didn’t watch the UGA or UK games or you don’t think a QB that gives the other team more points than he gives his own is a problem. Either way you’re wrong, we have a major QB problem.
We have plenty of other problems too but how can anyone not think we have a QB problem?
