Lol. It is possible to recognize that we had a real good shot at Howell and the staff was wrong to cool on him, while also seeing that it may not have mattered and he was off to UNC no matter what. Do I think people should quit talking about it? Yes. Should we have a better QB by year 3? Also yes. If the latter was true then the former would be long forgotten...

You’re exaggerating the situation in the opposite direction imo. Go back and read the thread and quotes from Howell. Maybe he inevitably winds up at UNC, but our staff cooled on him at a time when reports and Howell himself were making it sound like we were the leader in his recruitment. It doesn’t matter now, but he liked UT a lot. There’s no way of knowing if he still would’ve flipped to UNC had he first committed to us. Regardless, with hindsight, it goes down as the first strike against this coaching staff’s ability to evaluate QB talent.

No it doesn't. It is just the spin the anti Pruitt crowd loves to put on it. No one actually knows and everyone acts like they do.
