They threw Maurer in there vs a better defense last year. He showed he can handle it. If Bailey is better then I say let’s see it.
No not now my Brother. Be patient ok. Our QB of the future is fixing too light it up in the next game. We already talked about being preseason top 10. So be patient my brother

He had 2 tds and 5 ints I’m not sure he showed he can handle it. He has the ability but must have had trouble reading defenses. That being said, I would love to see him out there. He has had another year and I feel like if he doesn’t end up with the job he is gone after this season. it was brought up that he was Going to transfer but I noticed he said he wouldn’t give up on his team mid season. notice he didn’t say he is staying after the season.

1 more thing. There should be plenty of transfers after the season since teams will have a numbers crunch. We have to pick up a QB. Even if Maurer or Bailey light it up we need more than 1 serviceable qb.

That 2 td 5 int thing thing is going to talk some of you into never letting a qb grow. You should remember that 4 of those ints were out of his control in one way or another. He was much better than his stats indicated

Hey Volnation I was thinking this. You all our my family. Why would we rush this Kid out too a game like tomorrow? Would you rush your son or grandson out there tomorrow? When he is not ready. I dont know HB personally but I wouldn't do this too my player im coaching. I would coach him up. Then I will know he is ready for this type game. You guys play football. Use your knowledge and prospective of the game. I love knowledge of the game. All are welcome too comment. Lets talk Tennessee Ass Kicking Football. Go Vols! VFL ALWAYS. I LOVE YOU GUYS AND I LOVE OUR TEAM. GO VOLNATION! LET ME HEAR YOU? ROCKY TOP BABY. THATS WHO WE ARE. ROCKY TOP TENNESSEE WOOOOOOOOO!

If Pruitt has no faith in Shrout then allow Bailey and JG to share snaps entire game. Bama is a not a game the Vols will win, and if Vols did win it would be a 1 in a 100 freakish situation (4-5 turnovers by Bama). Based on the importance of the remaining 5 games following Bama, Bailey must get significant reps to prep for Arkansas. JG can give Bailey time on sideline to get a ton of instruction between snaps. this is officially a prep game for the future QB

I would really rather HB be in there after half time at the earliest and maybe wait and go against Arky as I would hate to see him get pummeled and lose confidence in himself.

That being said I would like to see Mauer or Shrout go at least the first half against Bama.

My feelings exactly.

I honestly don't know how we can't plan for Bailey. Don't have to be dumb.

I'm totally down to go run heavy and have roll outs and quick passes in the passing game.

What we can't do is decide to go pass happy. The only way we beat Bama or hang with them (14 points or less Margin) is to have the running game rocking.

I'm not sure what Pruitt's expectations are. Bailey doesn't have to be Manning right now, he just has to be better than JG. We have a OC making 1.6 mil a year, if he can't come up with a game plan for Bailey then he might not be the man for the job.

He's a scholarship QB. You really think they can protect him forever? This isn't your typical Alabama defense, Arkansas has a better defense than Bama at this point. He's tall enough to avoid the issues that plagued Stetson Bennett against Alabama with tipped balls. I can't believe people are scared to start a QB in a game that he was recruited for.

Agree 100%..I guarantee HB wouldn't be scared to start vs Alabama. Let the kid play, take his lumps and learn on the job. This is basically a free year. JG has had more than enough chances and it's painfully obvious he isn't the guy. Even Henry T is calling for HB to start. And it's clear on the sidelines that the players have zero faith in JG.

Man I’m gonna be fired up if we get some early breaks like we did against Georgia. Offense HAS to find a way to help the defense, I don’t care if they run the wildcat with chandler or gray.

Posts on here occasionally. Ran VR2 before the SI gig. Pretty tuned in to recruiting...not a hack at all.
I think he pretty much summed up how a lot of us feel! I would love nothing more than to see JG take the first snap, light bama up and never look back, unfortunately I don’t think that can/will happen. Like the article states, it’s time to invest in the future of the program.
GBO!!

When JG debuted, he was turf butter. That guy spent more time getting up off the field and pulling turf out of his face guard than anyone should ever have to do. His O-line could have been better, true, but he maddeningly held onto the ball, assuring that he was going to get hit hard. His time on the turf showed desire, but his time behind center reveals an inconsistency that he isn't growing beyond.

HB can debut behind a more talented O-line, one that will grow as a unit with game time. He should not spend anywhere near as much time spread out on the turf as has JG. Please, let him develop savvy. Let him look off defenders, make intelligent throws, and have greater accuracy. Let him become a better, smarter, more capable QB with every game. Let him be a winner, have the drive to compel the team down the field to score. Pretty please.
JG wasn't good in high school which makes his entire recruitment one giant hoax as well as showing how the whole star system can be influenced and manipulated.
