We're already throwing a guy out there that isn't prepared. It sounds like you're willing to just concede the game to Bama. If that's the case, why play? Let's just forfeit and get extra practice time.

Yes, that's sarcasm at the end.
raise your hand if you think we're beating bama this weekend.........and be preapred to show your work if you do...............................lol

There’s a difference between being prepared and executing. If you want to say he’s not executing then I agree.

If a QB isn’t prepared then they don’t have a chance to execute. Preparation/knowing what to do is the the minimum for a QB to have success. If you want to throw a QB out there without that then agree to disagree.

Like I said, if Bailey/Maurer have had more reps than is being let on then let them start. Otherwise run the ball/slow the game down and limit turnovers and I think we actually can win.

It's more about trying than it is succeeding. Why play at all if we're not giving every game our best shot? I'm not about quitting before we even play.

You’re conceding if you throw JG out there. And there’s no scientific standard for determining how long it takes for a new face to be PREPARED. Some get it faster. In our case, the majority get IT faster than our incumbent. Rudimentary instincts and plain ability to throw > nada.

we are in the middle of year 3...if it was going to happen, yeah, it likely would have happened by now......................................lol.

@Ulysees E. McGill

If JG starts against Bama, what's your feeling if he plays poorly? Is that on the player? Or is it on the coach who continues to play him after two prior consecutive poor performances? I think it's a legit question. I really want Pruitt to get this right, but if JG goes out there and craps the bed again, I'll be pissed. I can handle losing, but I can't handle losing by making the same mistake over and over again.
We ain't winning whether he starts or not..the only difference will be in margin of victory if he gives them 2-3 tds.

I hope JP plays some other guys to gove them some experience, but the only one that has any promise of being any better than JG at this point due to the very good reasons I have already posted has to be Bailey.

Maybe JP doesn't want to take a chance in shattering his confidence when he is clearly not prepared for SEC football yet, much less the #2 team in the country.

That's my point. We know what we get with JG. We've watched him implode the last 6 quarters of football he's played. We need to do something different and at least try to win the game. I can live with losing, just not losing again because we refuse to pull a player that continuously underperforms. It's maddening. Any other player would have already been benched.

So you think we can win against a team who beat the brakes off Georgia who beat the brakes off us?

So you're conceding the game before it's even played. And you wonder why people are mad at coach?

This kid’s built differently. He can handle a loss or several. But he learns from his mistakes and progresses. Admittedly that’s from following his high school arc but do the same for JG and you notice the difference.

I’ve misunderstood your stance. Carry on.

This is not to be preachy, I get crazy about things on here sometimes. I see a lot of frustrated posters and rightfully so. The talk all preseason on UT was the team would go as far as the QB would take them. Here we are. See what happens from here. As for the other stuff, I read on here a kid battling cancer, family members suffering from either Covid or the fallout from the lockdowns, family members battling alcoholism. I have two sons, one serving as an officer in the military and one serving God in the Middle East. Saturday I will sit in a comfortable chair in comfortable room eating comfort food and watch the greatest game ever invented on a nice, big screen TV. On Sunday I will worship my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Hope the Vols win, hope we get back to the top of the game, but for me it's a matter of priorities. Again, not preaching to anyone, just throwing out my perspective on things.
Great post..

I don't believe in conceding a game before it's even played. Putting JG back out there feels like just that.

If you have a leak in your basement, does it become a problem that needs to be fixed immediately, or does it become problem in two weeks when your basement is completely flooded?
Wow...you are so much smarter than this..That is a horrible analogy, and especially with no context. This is a very complicated situation with a huge amount of factors to consider...not a leaky freakin faucet.

Factor 1 to consider.... play JG and we lose the game.

Factor 2 play a different QB, possibly have better gameplay, and that QB gets experience before the Arkansas game......

Not that hard of a decision if you ask me.

Heard what exactly?

There are zero details in that post. This is the most irritating thing ever.

“Not being treated fairly” but doesn’t say how.

“Program isn’t what it seems” but doesn’t say how.

I’m not saying she’s lying but if you’re gonna put a statement like that out there, then actually give details. Or just one example. Just one.
Every now and then there is substance. But this situation is almost always sour grapes or players and parents with unrealistic expectations going in.
