It blew my mind that HE attacked ME for being nice! Says a lot about character?
He just needs to get a little bigger and learn some discretion. Id guess that it’s easier to coach a guy to slide than to try and coach a guy to not play scared.
That’s a stand up, man thing you just done and you’ve earned my respect. Apology accepted.I apologize for “attacking” you. Message boards are the place for rumors and conjecture, facts are rarely part of the equation even when posters “act” like they have an inside source. More time than not that “inside source” is Volquest or 24/7, a paid message board for rumor and conjecture.
I get exactly what you’re saying. QBs have to understand that they’re not RBs. In his defense, the times he got really hurt were an awkward fall against MSU, a free rusher against UGA and against Alabama he took a shove after he threw a pass and hit his head on one of his own guys. He had some bad luck.Thats the thing I think in his mind he is as big as Cam Newton but physically he is smaller than a lot of HS kids. Im not asking the kid to play scared im asking him to not get killed.

How long until those awkward falls turn into something serious though? I want the kid to start i really do but he needs to clean his game up first. He provides a big spark to the offense that they desperately need.
Hopefully, a lot of that was just a kid trying to make something happen because he didn’t have the full offense yet.How long until those awkward falls turn into something serious though? You're right. Those are the concerns. I hope he gets the chance to play through some of that and get coached up. I think he could be really good if given say... half the patience JG has gotten.
People greatly exaggerate his play. He made one good throw to a wide open Marquez against UGA. That's about it. I can relate with the kid about depression, it's something I battle with to this day at times, I want the kid to succeed...but the reality is, he's had every chance in the world to take the job. Same with JT Shrout. Our hopes lie on Harrison Bailey now. I fully believe that.
My main concern is that he's susceptible to concussions. Some people just are. Their heads are just "different" in some way. Just like some people just cannot process information quickly or instinctively. They're deliberate "thinkers". Nothing wrong with it... it just doesn't make for a good QB.
JG has been given the most patience in the history of football. In 2017 I remember immediately thinking he sucked. Was there anybody that believed he would be good after his redshirt freshman year? I know a lot more people feel better about Maurer after his TRUE freshman year. You're right. Those are the concerns. I hope he gets the chance to play through some of that and get coached up.
