Idk it's been awhile since he's coached qb's and it was at the HS level. Weinke had 1 yr coaching the position in the NFL back in 2015, and 1 season as an analyst at Bama before coming here in 2018. So really, his time at UT is the only experience he's had coaching the position at the collegiate level. While Tee has 11yrs college coaching experience. Pick your poison I guess. Not opposed to the Tee idea, but can he coach QBs? If he's no better than Winky, then what's the point?
If they are equal in coaching ability, you go with the best recruiter... Tee?Idk it's been awhile since he's coached qb's and it was at the HS level. Maybe someone with more knowledge of coaches can help me out here? How successful is the whole having a running game coordinator and a passing game coordinator, along with an offensive coordinator? Does this typically get good results and seem to work for most programs that choose to go this route? Seems to me an offensive coordinator should coordinate the offense, run and pass and let the assistants teach technique and the game plan implemented by the OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR.The former OC and TE coach at ND is on our staff as analyst. This might be the spot Osovet held the last couple of years. We have options on the offensive side of the ball, if we tell Weinke to hit the Waffle House with Brumbaugh. I wouldn’t even be surprised if Chaney leaves.
I mean if the fired coaches are hitting a Waffle House I would say it’s a high possibly Chaney tags along. The former OC and TE coach at ND is on our staff as analyst. Osovet is the offensive guru whose teams averaged 40 points plus per game. I would select him as OC over anyone else on the staff, including Chaney.Move Osovet to DL and plug Long in at TE coach.
Give the co-OC duties to Long and T for the rest of the year.
Let Chaney step.away with dignity at the end of the year.
